I read the "free birthday admission to any park" info. My headline says it all. Even FREE I would NOT go on my birthday. Why? Becasue it's at Christmas during the super CRAZY time. My mom and my son either. Maybe my husband can use it in June. It's frustrating too. I would gladly accept a discount coupon for a future visit even if it's less than the price of a 1 day ticket.

oh well. It is a very nice idea but not going to work for 3/4 of my Christmas birthday family :guilty:

I guess my family got lucky, everyone has a "slow period" birthday except for DN10 who was born on 12-31...New Year's Eve. Very very busy I hear.

Im unlucky too. Its late january but im in college, so no can do :(

DBF's is Jan. 7th
Mine is May 25th (always on memorial day weekend)
DD12 is July 8th
DD8 is Dec 15th

LOL I feel you on the birthdays near holidays thing.....LOL I have DD8's, 10 days later is Christmas, 2 weeks later is DBF......LOL

Our family has 3xmas birthdays and we will be going for each of them...
Dec 21 DD3
Dec 30 Me
JAn 6 My mom
Nov 11 (veterans day) DS

But we dont really care worth it to us!

Same with us ~

Me 8/8
DS 4/20 (our most recent trip started on his B~day, but I doubt that'll happen again ~ Easter was in March this year)
DD 7/3

I don't think it's a super deal anyway unless you go alone, others in your group
need a ticket + one needs to consider the other costs of DLR.

My birthday's the 12th but I'll only be there on the 10th.

I'm not sure with DH and I. Mine is 11/19. So that can be close to the Thanksgiving stuff. But maybe not too bad? My DH is 12/1. Another one of those off dates, but I hear they do that candlelight thing around then?

Ds's is good I think. May 2. This year that's a Saturday though, we usually avoid weekends. But maybe we'll change it up so we can be there the last day or something. I'd probably want the gift card though.

We have the same birthday! :rotfl: I think it will be 2012 before our b-day is the same week as Turkey day again? I will be there this year on my b-day, but more than likely not next year, when it would count.

We already have a b-day trip planned for my son on April 17, and have the AP's, so he will get the card. I think that will be a nice bonus for him. I can see the benefit of getting free admin or a gift card if the trip is already planned, but I don't know if I'd go out of the way to plan it that way. At first, the concept seemed really exciting because we have a bunch of trips planned on special occasions next year, but they are only trying to entice people there...not realy make it special once they are, from what I have seen.

heck what are you complaining about?? whats worse than crowds is crowds accompanied by heat...I would rather spend Christmas time at the park than have to deal with crowds and summer heat...my bday is at the end of july and I am seriously considering this freebie

DS15 and DS15 have a birthday at the end of August, but the start of school so we can't miss. Too bad! That would have paid for half the family! Mine is in Sept, so still can't miss school. That leaves DH's in June so that one is a "maybe". Maybe we can "visit" my sister run over to DLR for the day. :lmao:

We went to DL for my b-day a few years ago and it's on 12/30. We drove down on 12/27 and back on 1/2. We had my b-day in the park and went to the Happiest B-Day Party at the Plaza Inn. We braved the crowds on New Year's Eve to see the countdown and the fireworks. Yes, it was very crowded, but I have only great memories of that trip. It poured rain the first two days so we just put on our ponchos and slogged around with everyone else. My DH wants to go in a few years for his 50th b-day which is always during Thanksgiving week. We'll do it for sure. Next year, we're going during 4th of July week since DH has a convention in Anaheim that week. We can't go to Anaheim and not go to DL! I love DL. I'll go anytime for any reason!

Yeah but if you go you dont just have the option of getting in for Free, you have the option of getting a free gift card worth the amount of one day park entrance ticket. You can use it anywhere at the Disneyland resort. Meaning in the world of Disney store. I would at least go get that and buy yourself something nice for your birthday.

So you get a gift card worth the price of a 1 day admission. Is that a park hopper or just to ONE park? Could you then turn around and apply that to the price of a 3 day parkhopper for later in the year? I would do that. Especially since my son is the 19th, mom is the 26th and I'm the 27th! My family in theory take all 3 and get a 3 day hopper for free!

My birthday is November 2nd. Perfect timing! Crowds aren't bad, weather is nice and it's freeeee!:goodvibes

Well I already have an AP so I get the dollar worth of a 1-day/1 park ticket to use on merchandise!:woohoo:

I dunno if its a park hopper or not. I honestly dont think it would be because its like $90 for a one day park hopper and like $50-60 for a one day single park ticket. There is always a catch to everything and Disney will want to save money if they can, so I would think it would only be for one park. But even still if your paying like $50-$60 at the gate for that ticket and they give you a GC for that amount, thats a nice chunk of change to spend on yourself if your asking me.

But I believe that you have to register all your birthday's on the Disneyland website and Disney sends you a confirmation 2 weeks before your trip to the park. You take that to the park with your ID to prove your birthday and they issue you a card as long as you are there a day before, on, or a day after your birthday.

If it is the amount of a park hopper, then I would definately look into seeing if it can go towards tickets for the parks for all your birthdays later in the year.

FYI- you could pay for your entrance and then go to guest services and get birthday fastpasses for up to 5 of your family members (total of 6). They state to get there as early as possible as the birthday fastpasses will most likely run out by 11 am.

I wonder how many fastpasses you get? Like do you get one for each ride or for just one ride?
