Xel Ha Nature Park Cozumel

Can anyone tell me what this was like? How far do you have to walk I am planning to go with my parents who are in their 70's.

Xel Ha is actually on the Mainland by Playa Del Carmen. Cozumel has Chankanaab Park that is a nature park but is only accessible by taxi.

To get to the mainland I understand you have to walk somewhere to get the ferry.. is that far?

It definitely can be walked easily but in the heat it can feel like forever and then throw in their age. A taxi would be cheap. I think around 4 or 5 USD. Don't forget you need to factor in a taxi on the PDC side as well. There is a slight hill up to where you would catch another taxi to Xel Ha.
