We usually stay at Bonnet Creek (just back from another fantastic holiday). Just wondering if anyone ever stayed at Reunion and rented through an owner like at Bonnet Creek. was thinking of doing a split stay next time just to try somewhere different so would welcome any feedback.
Thanks

We stayed at reunion for a week after SSR. We had a three bed condo which we rented privately. So much cheaper and it really just meant we couldn't use the waterpark.

Reunion is huge so beware when you are looking for an area to stay in. We were in 'the Villas North' and it was a driving distance to any pool.

The main pool is lovely. It also has a 'bar' and quick cafe sort of place. You order your food at the bar and then it is brought over from the hotel restaurant I believe. The food is delicious! There is also a computer room that you can use even when not staying within the hotel.

Reunion is right across the road from a Publix and a Mcdonalds I believe. Apart from this it is really in the middle of nowhere- or it felt like it. We did not like feeling so cut off after our stay at SSR. it has a very adult feel, so it really depends on what you are looking for. It is very quiet, upscale and golf orientated.

Were you looking to stay with the hotel or rent a private owners villa/ condo? Although we didn't like how far we were from the parks and the more adult vibe we loved our private condo so much that we are staying there again.

If you stay with the hotel, it will cost a lot more but give you access to all of the facilities, such as the waterpark. Renting privately gives you access to all the other communal pools I believe.:)

If you are a family and like to be central and in a more family orientated atmosphere, I would possibly stick to bonnet creek (though I have not stayed there I think it is very central)

Reunion has privately owned homes/condos/townhomes, and Wyndham has a portion that is timeshare.

The only type of accomodation available through Wyndham is a 3 BR condo. I think that all of these overlook the golf course. If staying through Wyndham you do have access to the waterpark and there were various kids activities going on there.

We own Wyndham points and this is our first choice for Orlando stays.

It's a cash free resort and all food/beverage charges are billed directly to your room. You cannot take your own food/beverage to any of the pools, you must purchase from the resort. They do have water available.
Gratuities are added to all food/beverage purchases. They do provide an on demand shuttle service to take you anywhere in the resort.

It's a much more sedate resort and this is one of the reasons our family likes it better than BC. Children and adults seem better behaved here. We are not snobs (far from it), it's just that we prefer a quieter atmosphere for vacation.

I'm interested in renting on the Wyndham side. Does anyone know how I could rent here ? We're not Wyndham owners. Thanks!

Any of the usual Wyndham mega-renters/brokers (Ken, VS, etc.) can help you.

Can anyone tell me how far it is to drive from here to the 4 different parks? In reading various reviews, I'm seeing anything from 10 minutes to 25 minutes "to Disney", and I'm not sure if the differences are because people are taking different routes (I've seen some reference to taking the back roads instead of the highway for a faster trip) or going to different parts of Disney, or what.

Thanks.

I would say it is about 10 to 15 minutes to the Disney border. So depending on which park you're going to it can take up to 25 minutes. :)

Thanks so much! I'm trying to decide between here and WBC as well, and I just can't quite decide!

I would based on the vibe you are going for. Reunion: more upscale, more peaceful, a little removed. Bonnet: in the center of the action.

With teens/tweens, we're more "in the action" sorts of people. But, it's your vacation.

We think the one thing going for reunion was the main pool which was basic, but lovely.

Apart from that, we loved the condo but rented privately so that doesn't apply to you;)

With my family's priorities, I would stay at Bonnet Creek, purely because it is so much more central. It is also more family friendly.

What is more important to you- golf and upscale or being central and having the hotel family oriented? :)

A friend of mine is a Wyndham timeshare owner and is getting us a room. We currently have a reservation for a 2 BR at WBC. However, we realized after traveling this summer that we would be a lot more comfortable in a 3 BR. Problem is that there are no longer any 3 BRs available at WBC for our dates, but Wyndham Reunion has plenty of 3 BRs for our dates.

This is our first trip to Disney, and we have a 4 year old who will probably nap most days, so we'd like to be close to the parks, which is a plus for WBC. But we also know that we'll have a better vacation and a better time at the parks when everyone is well rested and sleeps well, and for us, that would be in a 3 BR. Although we have kids, we also prefer a quiet place, and it seems like Reunion is a quieter place. DH also likes more upscale.

I think we're probably going to change our reservation to a 3 BR at Reunion and have my friend keep an eye out for a cancellation for a 3 BR at WBC and switch to that if it opens up.
