Wyndham Bonnet Creek - shuttle or car?

Planning a trip for next October, wondering about BC's shuttle service versus driving to and from the parks. We will either drive our own vehicle down there or fly and rent one, but in terms of time and convenience do you think we should consider using the shuttle service?

We will have 4 adults and 7 or 8 kiddos, one double stroller and maybe a single, planning full park days (rope drop to evening) most of the time except two days we'd like to revisit a park in the morning and come back early afternoon to relax.

We did ok with Disney's bus service our last trip, but it was certainly stressful with our clan ... But I'm not sure if driving, parking and hiking from the parking lot to the gates would really be any easier?

Has anyone done both shuttle and driving, and which did you find faster or more manageable?

It is my first time staying at WBC next month and I am renting a car. I have always rented a car--even when staying onsite. I just don't like feeling "stuck" anywhere and I like going on my schedule. Plus, if you factor in the money you save if you eat at some off site restaurants compared to Disney TS, you don't end up paying that much for a rental.

Plus, it always seems like some needs to go to a drug store or Walmart at some point on the trip and it's nice to be able to hop in the car and go.

If you don't mind paying the $14 to park, then you may want the option of a car. We have stayed 3 times, and used their shuttle, but have to plan you times going and returning, not as frequent as Disney busses.
