I was thinking about staying at Bonnet Creek for this April. I was looking at flipkey.com which is tripadvisor's website for renting and one owner had $79 if you booked within 60 day arrival period.

However the reviews said the sales push to buy there never ended. Constant phone call and being approached. You check in and THEN have to go to another desk to get a parking voucher/pass thing which they apparently hold hostage until they've badgered you to come to a sales meeting where the ante is upped even there.

No thanks. I'll pay more and stay somewhere else. That's not my idea of a vacation. No matter how nice the place is.

We stayed at BCR this December and loved it. They invited me to a presentation when I was picking up the parking pass and I declined. That was it for the sales pitch. There was zero pressure and we never heard from the sales people the whole trip.

Highly recommend BCR.

We're staying at WBC for the first time this October, so I can't tell you anything about the resort itself. But we've stayed at Wyndham timeshare resorts, and they're nice. We own a week timeshare at Wyndham Smokey Mountains, so it's easy to trade into other Wyndham resorts.

That said, if you've never stayed at a timeshare resort, you might be in for a rude awakening. In the form of no daily housekeeping. There's no one to tidy up for you every day, no one to give you clean towels, no one to give you free body wash and shampoo. Once you arrive, your rooms are clean and stocked with linens, towels, shampoo, body wash and cleaning supplies. Some timeshares will exchange towels and linens in the middle of the week; I'm not sure WBD is one. They do supply you with a washer, dryer and laundry soap to wash your clothes, linen and towels. However, I think the laundry soap is only for a few loads.

We've stayed at timeshares for nearly 20 years. Works for us. But, if you want to be pampered every minute, it won't work for you.

I have also heard this but it wasn't my experience when we stayed. They asked, we said no, they called a couple of times and we just didn't answer. I wouldn't let that stop you from staying there. We loved it so much we are going back this year.

A couple of tips for avoiding a high pressure sales person:

When you pick up the parking pass at BCR they have you fill out a form including your income level. Make sure you check the lowest level of income - you won't qualify for purchasing and they won't waste their time bothering you.

Unplug the phone when you check in to avoid any sales people calling to invite you to a presentation.

I have been tempted to try WBC, it does sound beautiful....
but then I think of the things that make an onsite stay so special.... the idea that we have to rent a car at the airport $, missing out on DME ride...I like that ride , then to drive to a park and then park somewhere$, then drive back "home", I like being shuttled around on the buses and monorail too...the disney feel being off site??, the potential to be bothered with sales pitches , no Mousekeepers to clean up, I /we like eating in the restaurants and the dining plan...
the $ savings dont seem so worth it to me..Im thinking that perhaps for larger families its a bigger/better deal????

Everybody likes different things. Some people really love being onsite. The idea of having to stay in a hotel room doesn't sound like a vacation to me at all though.

WBC has a bus to transport guests to the parks (free). I never used it though because I like having my own transportation. Regarding sales pitches, as I said earlier, we've never had a problem with that at all.

As far as Mousekeeping goes, if I stay in a hotel room, I always hang the Do Not Disturb sign up because I don't like strangers in the room.

We don't really cook there because I like to eat out too! LOL We do like having snacks though and sometimes having breakfast stuff. I love having a washer/dryer so I don't have to lug around so much luggage.

Of course, everybody likes different things.

ETA: The first time we stayed at WBC, it was only my daughter and me. We got a 2BR/2BA off ebay for $90 a night during Christmas week.

No mousekeeping at Disney Vacation Club villas either if you rent points. You do get it if you're renting from Disney but unless it's changed, you can't rent 2 bd or grand villas.

Taxi or rent a car. We barely use the buses when we stay at WDW -like 3 times in 30 years-and take taxis or rent a car.Whatever it costs to park, the money you save staying at WBC more than makes up for it. There are threads on the transportation board about rental car discounts.

Just say no and take the phone off the hook. My brother and his family stayed there last May and had no problem with sales pressure.

The Disney restaurants are ok. When we stay on our DVC pts, we usually go to Epcot for meals every night. In August though we ate offsite and really enjoyed that too.

Even though we're DVC mem bers I am tempted to rent at WBC because my brother and his wife raved about it.

We stayed at WBC last May-- 3BR/2BA with 8 people--$112/night. We did rent a car because of how many people we had. My dad does not like to ride the buses, but my DSis and I took the bus from WBC several times to/from the parks. They were always on time, so if you didn't want to rent a car, you wouldn't have to. The resort is amazing, it is right next door to Carribean Beach Resort.

We had no sales pressure. At the parking pass desk, we said we had rented points from someone and were not interested in buying. She smiled and gave us our pass. We never received a phone call once.

The resort is amazing! Rooms are beautiful, so many amentities, we didn't get to even do a third of them. Our kids loved pool hopping. When I ran the numbers for CBR, our cost was 1/4 of what that would've been. I even found Disney wall decals for $5 at Target and decorated the kids room so it was Disney themed for them.

I would honestly love to go back and spend a week there without doing anything Disney. There is enough stuff to do on the resort. We will go back there one day.

ETA: One day at MK, the monorail broke down and the ferry was down at the same time. So EVERYONE was having to use the buses. This was in the middle of a rain storm and the lines for the buses were so long. They packed us on like sardines. I can't imagine taking WDW transportation all the time.

To those who can't find the deal, it's on booking.com and you have to search for bonnet creek and select the hotel described as "orlando bonnet creek". Those prices were for my dates, and when I booked it said something like "only 4 rooms left at this price" but that was for the 1 bedroom, not the 2 bedroom.
