Kind of long, PLEASE bear with me. We purchased a new T&C limited a week ago. We agreed (suckers, I know) to the diamond glass coating for the windshield. How do we know they did it? I am pretty sure they didn't put it on. Also, the seats are FILTHY with grease or something, but that stuff is all over from the radio controls to the back seat side compartments. Resistol was suppose to be on the seats. Wouldn't that make the seats easy to wipe if it was applied? The van was to be picked up on a truck and brought to our dealer, but instead they drove down and drove the van back putting an additional 274 miles on the van.

We were in a bad situation, we purchased on a Thursday and we were leaving on Sunday. We went to get the van at closing on Saturday so they couldnt clean the stuff all over the van. They wrote it on a paper and told us they would fix it when we got back into town which won't be until mid June. Or they said we could take it some place to get it detailed and bring them the bill. I am thinking they need to pay for it over the phone or whatever. I am not going to pay a cent, shouldnt have too. There are two scratches on the right sliding door that they noted they will fix.

I forgot to mention that the headphones and remote were NOT in the van. They will be mailing those to us. I wrote a letter to the manager telling him our disappointment in the service and the van. I have not heard back at all.
What would your next step be? It is too late to cancel and buy elsewhere correct?

You took possession of the car so you are stuck with it. I would have demanded money off or a refund for the mileage. All you can hope is that they make good on their promises.

Very true. I know in Ohio you have 3 days from the date of purchase to return the car, then after that you own it and the dealer doesn't have to do anything as far as repairs, etc. I would like to think they will do the right thing, but you may be stuck on most of this if it is not in writing. Personally, I would not have taken possession of it with these problems.

WHY oh WHY did you take possession of that vehicle. Your state law dictates that you CAN return it unless it is to your satisfaction, I do not know YOUR # of days though.
SOunds like you are Starting with issues right off....I'd bring that back asap and get it resolved right then OR get your $$ back........sorry to hear this, I really hope it all works out for you!! :grouphug: Let us know :grouphug:

There are stipulations to the three-day rule. Read your contract to make sure if there is anything in there.

You said "piece of paper." I would get it on letterhead of the dealership, signed by the GM and/or the owner. Salesman are very transient and some will say or do anything to get a sale--not all, but some. Document everything, take pictures with date stamps on them. I cannot believe that someone did not go over this car before delivery.

As for the diamond coat on the windshield, see how it beads up is what I'm reading.

OP your post reminded me of our Toyota minivan purchase a bit - we had to go back to dealer several times to get the DVD remote, both sets of headphones and the valet key. First remote did not work, one set of headphones was damaged and they forgot to give us the valet key - said they mailed it to us but we never received it. I was just so excited that I drove off the lot without thinking to check for all those things. Next time I will be smarter!!

Well, it is good that you have the defects and and the promise to repair in writing. I hope you hear from the manager soon. I think some pps have had good advice as far as reviewing your contract and state laws, jic. In addition to repairs, I think they should offer you some things for all of the trouble and the additional mileage (274) too, such as free oil changes/tire rotations. Something.

Good luck with it all. I hope it is resolved to your satisfaction. Please keep us posted!
