Little bit of backstory first-
We usually fly out of Buffalo and I really dislike flying out of Pearson but it turned out that our summer vacay was substantially cheaper out of YYZ so that is where we fly from this time around.
Here is my dilemma-

Flight leaves at 8:30 am so absolute latest we can be there is 6:00am.
We can do a park n' fly for the 15 days we are gone with an airmiles coupon for $89 plus tax OR we can stay over the night before and do a sleep/park/fly hotel package BUT few have the full 15 days parking so the cost is about double the park'nfly.
I have trouble getting to sleep in hotel rooms but it does allow us to sleep a little longer in the morning, aiming to leave the hotel room at 5:30am (allowing for a shuttle that may not be super fast or efficient)
Coming straight from home means leaving home at 4:45am (allowing again for a possible delay with the shuttle from the park n fly parking lot cause you never know!)
We have a 12 hour travel day after that so I am thinking the hotel might be the way to go it is just so hard for me to get to sleep and I am worried the kids will be wound up etc turning that extra 45 minutes in the morning to not being worth it at all.

Well my fellow Dis'ers-what would you do? Anyone have any excellent YYZ hotels with long term parking they can suggest? I looked at a groupon for the Quality Inn toronto Airport and then went to Trip Advisor and the very first review states the poster had their car stolen while away!!!!
I dont really know what to do!

We always book a hotel room by the airport with parking included. There are several with parking garages with security cameras. We've not had a problem with any of these. If you need the names PM me. You can usually get a deal for about $150 or less for the package.

Thanks mom rules! I have been looking all morning and I have a couple ot choose from, it is just that we are gone for just over 2 weeks and the extra days parking are really adding up (plus not sleeping in my own bed the night before!)

When we fly out of Toronto for more than a week we use an airport limo company. It's less work than staying in a hotel overnight and you don't have to worry about parking. With tip, I think we usually pay around $80 from the Beaches area.

Watch WagJag or Groupon etc.. all the local deal sites there are ALWAYS deals for a HOTEL for the night and PARKING for 14 days etc..

These deals have been golden for us! and the cost is right around your park'n'fly price or in many instances just cheaper if you don't have a coupon and pay straight up for parking!

Here's one I found quickly...

The only issue is finding one that falls into your travel dates.

Thanks for the limo idea lsmith but we live north of milton in the country and it can be hard to find our house, kinda of the beaten path which translates to $$$ and time to get there.

Pensfan-thanks for that link, have you ever stayed at the Quality inn (which the groupon is for)

Yes I stayed there last AUG when we went to Disney!

Only complaint was that we got a free BUFFET dinner at the restaurant and well it SUCKED lol outside of that it was a nice parking garage, free airport shuttle and the room was a bit dated but not bad .. again for 1 night and the price it was well worth it ... and well looking at the pictures they appear to have much more modern rooms .. so can always ask for a room change if you get a dated room!

We are from Oshawa so saving us that 45-50 min drive in the early AM was worth every penny .. bit more sleep, no traffic etc... :thumbsup2
