I have a great problem. I'm going to do a solo day in a park this summer, but can't decide which option to go for.

I've done most everything below, except the AK tour & tree projections, and have visited often with family and friends.I love both parks and would enjoy taking either at my own pace.

It will be early June and hot. I can make FP at 30 days.

What would you do, with one solo, late arrival day?!

Option 1
MK -- Arrive about 1pm. basically spend the day seeing how many FP I can grab, and hit up some stuff my family doesn't have the patience for. See the 3pm parade. Try Pirates scavenger hunt. See Tiki Room, Laugh Floor, etc. Leisurely Dinner at Skipper Canteen (the fish!). Find a good spot for HEA. Fantasyland until park close at 11pm.

Option 2
AK -- Arrive about 1pm. FP a ride or two. Do late afternoon Wild Africa Trek, a 3 hour tour. See Lion King show. Chill at Nomad Lounge. Hope I have a FP for Flight of Passage. Quick service dinner. Watch Tree of Life projections. Maybe catch later Rivers of Light show. Park closes at 10pm.

Hm. Both seem tempting! Option 1 sounds like it'd be pretty action-packed with lots of options of stuff to do. Option 2 is more relaxed and has stuff you haven't done before, even with an hour less of park time, but the tours would be an extra expense.

I'm cheap and love Magic Kingdom, and I think spending 3 hours on a tour at AK would make me anxious if I only had 9 hours at the park total (I could ride Everest SO many times in those 3 hours!). So I'd do Option 1. But both sound fun! And if you'd like to focus on doing stuff you've never done before then AK is obviously the way to go.

Right on. I'm also cheap, so the tour $ is a factor here for sure. (But I can justify a Disney expense pretty easily. )

Did someone say Nomad Lounge? I voted AK.

Have fun.

Ha! Yes. And I should have mentioned that would be new to me too.At this point, I'm more interested in getting to Nomad Lounge than a repeat ride on FoP.
