I'm a DL newbie (WDW vet), and I'm getting ready to buy tickets. I need some guidance, please!

Here's the time we have for the parks:
Sat., Oct. 3 (we'll only have afternoon/evening)
Sun., Oct. 4 (all day)
Mon., Oct. 5 (all day)

Originally my thought was to do 3-day tickets, no park hopper. However, now the Halloween party is scheduled for Mon., Oct. 5. I love the one at WDW, but the price is pretty steep... considering we'll be there during a busy weekend since it will be Gay Days, do you think we'll get more bang for our buck if we maybe do 2-day tickets (skip the parks on Saturday) and add the Halloween party to take advantage of shorter lines and a long evening in the park? Or is California Adventure open during the Halloween party, thus giving us a park to attend that evening (that would be our Monday park)?

I'm curious on what you all would do if you were going those days. Thanks! :)

I'd go with the option that give the most time in the parks. Even if that means no Party. For me it's time in the parks...
It will be a busy weekend for sure.

Are you saying if you do MHP on Mon then you would have a 2 day ticket for Sun and Mon then the party ticket for Mon night?

Yes DCA will be open during the party but it will be BUSY since everyone from DL will now be joining everyone at DCA for the rest of the night.

I'd do the extra day. We did 2 mhp's last year, aND they were fun but I didn't think worth the $

Yes--we would skip the parks Saturday and just hang out at the pool and go to Downtown Disney. If I got us 2-day tickets, I would rather spend them on our two full days. :)

Sounds like everyone is pretty split! My boyfriend has never been to a Disney park as an adult, so I want to give him a great experience. I'm tempted to throw the budget out the window and just buy a 3-day ticket AND the party tickets... we'll see. Disney is never kind to my bank account.

I would skip the party (we are skipping it this year) and get a 3 day PH. On the party day start at DLR and then move to DCA. Saturday DLR will be open late so I would definitely plan on going even if you get there later in the day.

Well I always say go for more days if you can make it happen. If you are going to stick with a 2 day ticket and MHP then I would go on Sat and Sun with the 2 day and just do MHP on Mon since you can get into the park 3 hours before the party actually starts. Last year we went on a Fri MHP, arrived around 4:30 with ADR at CO and we were able to get so much done in that night!

I agree with the above suggestion to skip the party and go for 3 day park hoppers. That will give you the most time in both parks, since parkhopping at DLR is a breeze. Also, since you can hold FPs in both parks at the same time, this will allow you to make the most of your FPs. If you haven't already read the the superthread on DLR for WDW Vets (http://www.disboards.com/threads/a-dlr-guide-for-wdw-vets.1162599/), please do. It gives so much helpful info.

We had a blast at the party when we went a few years ago. I am not sure how much has changed but I still say I would go for the party and if you can get a 3 day pass too. LOL but I know some ppl do not like the price of the tickets now for the party so it all depends on what you think is worth the most to you.
