www.lakeside.com Having major problems with this company!!

I placed an order in mid-November and noticed right away that two of the items were not in stock yet... no big deal, I had time. I check a week later and the online invoice says that everything on my order is "waiting to be shipped" excpet for the the same two items, but I still didn't mind because there was a date of 12/5/05 for those two items to become available to be shipped.

Then a week later, out of curiosity mostly, I checked again. This time it says that each item has been cancelled. When I click on the word cancelled to see what this means exactly, the definition is "order currently not available or cancelled by the customer". There is no way that all of these items suddenly became sold out - there were 22 items! And there is NO way that I or anyone ele cancelled the order.

Now the real frustration comes: The phone number is ALWAYS busy and I mean always! The website offers no help and after filling out my online question form, I get an email that states I should be able to answer all of my questions via their "help desk"....again BUSY SIGNAL.

Where does this leave me? I have used Lakeside many times and have never had a problem. It's not a fly-by-night company or anything so I just don't get it.

Does anyone out there have an 800 number for Lakeside I could use... this one is a long distance number and maybe I'll get someone to answer at the Ordering number. Thanks.
 
The exact same thing happened to me...only it was for 4 items. My entire order was delayed and then I received a postcard in the mail stating: If you want to continue to wait on the items do nothing otherwise mail this card in and it will totally be cancelled out the system. This was the first and last time I order with them. Not pleased at all....

I'm sorry I threw the postcard out and the email I received does not have a phone #.

Good Luck but, I would not hold my breathe.

I recently received a catalog and thought about placing an order, but didn't. Your troubles make me glad that I didn't since I wouldn't be able to deal with a delay at this point. Not only would the items be for Christmas, but I'd need to wrap and mail to Germany so I'd need extra time.
 
I've ordered from them several times and at this time of year, it is torture to try to get the items from them. One order, came in 4 separate shipments over aperiod of 3 weeks. Every time I have ordered, shipment takes forever.

I JUST this morning placed an order for 4 items! I will be so upset if they don't get here by Christmas! I have never placed an order with them before, but they had some really pretty cheerleader throws at a good price and some curtains that would be perfect for both DDs rooms.
 
Oh, No. I just ordered 3 things two weeks ago. One is ready to be shipped but the other two are backordered. I really want these items before Christmas too! :badpc:
 
Just a note on the positive side. I have ordered from them alot and in large quantities and have never had a problem. They have broken shipments up, but I have never had to wait more than two weeks for the whole order to come in. I'm wondering if this is something just recent. I ordered 20 of the casserole basket sets the beginning of November and had them all in about 12 days - 2 different shipments. At one point I ordered 50 of one item and the online order would not go through for that amount so I called the number which surprisingly wasn't busy and placed it on the phone. The lady told me that the online form doesn't like quantity's over 24 - huh - anyway, just wanted to give you some reassurance that this is not the way this company has been in the past.
 
I ordered 5 things and they all came within 3 weeks with no trouble. There is no number on my invoice but there IS an address so I did a yahoo yellowpage search...try this number...(847) 444-3150. Good luck
 
I too have only had positive experiences with this company. I got my items within a week or two each time I ordered.
Luckily, I don't have any outstanding items waiting to be shipped!
Good Luck- I will keep this in mind before I order from them again.
 
I have never used lakeside but I use their sister company ltdcommodities (you have to own a business or work at one that will let you submit a copy of their letterhead to order from them). It is basically the same stuff sometimes the prices may vary a little. There isn't a toll-free number and I have never had much luck getting through on the phone number provided. I have had things on back order that were eventually cancelled by them. I've learned that if you really want something you have to order it as soon as the catalog hits your door (and even then it may be too late for popular items).
 
We just got our order last week - only took 2 weeks to get here at the most. Sorry you're having trouble. My mom got the big princess blow-up bed for her house and we can't wait to get it set it for the grand-daughers' sleep-over! I saw A LOT in their new catalog that I want to get - maybe I'll wait until after Christmas to order....
