...And it was terrifying... :guilty: I did not like being up there. I wanted to get off the stage. I ended up missing the easiest 2000 point question and it was embarassing. I didn't even use my lifelines. I think is more fun to play along in the audience then it is being up there. Oh well, I got the hat and pins and a great story/experience!! :goodvibes

Being on stage was one of the most nerve wracking experiences I've ever had. Made it to the 32,000 point question and missed it. I remember sweating.. But it was a great experience.

Too bad I don't know anything about perfumes :rotfl2:

Haven't they closed that thing down yet? I can think of a dozen things to put in that space. {sorry, DW and I are prejudiced, we hate that show}

i understand! i was at the show on Tuesday-i got up to number 5 on the points board and then started answering questions slower because i didnt want to get up on stage!

MITROS,

I am totally surprised by what you have said. When you say you "hate that show", are you referring to the actual show or the attraction?

The attraction is one of the most fun and immersive experiences at WDW. It is one of my personal favourites.

If you were referring to the show, check out the attraction...it becomes highly addictive!

Anyway, to each their own,

J

P.S. I love the Edmund Burke quote.

The TV show. We never went to the show at WDW based on what we feel about the one on television. I think maybe it was Regis Philbin that turned us off, never cared for him......

I am grateful that not more people like the attracton. We love it and even go over to play when I have already been in the Hot Seat and cannot qualify. I do much better then anyway. LOL

Getting into the Hot Seat is an accomplishment in itself as you are competing against everyone else in the audience. I once messed up on the very first question (from the audience0 as it was an obscure children's game that I had never heard of. On any given day mos anyone can win if they can get in the seat.

I am going to be the Phone a Friend for some friends who hope to get into the Hot Seat for the tv version in January. That is even scarier than being in the Hot Seat yourself.

Slightly Goofy

Once you've been on once, you are an old pro. Don't get me wrong, it's still scary but not as bad as the first time. We go once a year and I have been on once each year and the host can tell that you have been on before because of your comfort level. I am so not the type of person to do that sort of thing but I love to play the game so I do it.

It certainly gets the old ticker pounding when your under the lights. I was up last spring and got to the 500,000.00 question and canned on it, did I ever feel stupid. Our kids dont like to go anymore, they know how hard it is to get mom and dad to leave once we get started. How ever as long as we are paying for the trip we will get at least one show in.

Well, at least you got as far as you did. If you felt stupid think how I felt. As soon as I answered I could hear the crowd groaning and I thought about changing it before saying 'final answer' because at that point I know my answer was wrong. But in the back of mind I just wanted to get out of there...

Ironically, my kids (6 and 9) loved this attraction and they have never seen the TV show and wanted to go back again and again. I did not want to go back at all...

I was in the hot seat in april 2004 and won!!!!!!!!!!! You are all right......that darn hot seat is horribly nerve racking. But after I answered the first few questions I started to relax a little bit. Didn't make it to the attraction this year but you can bet I'll be back next April trying my luck again. I always had a great time without getting in the hot seat....love that attraction!!

I've been in the hot seat twice now and the first time was a bit unsettling because I was afraid I'd look really stupid and miss on the 100 point question. The second time wasn't so bad and it was fun. The first time I only won the hat, the second time I was able to win the polo shirt. I'm hoping to get in the hot seat again next time and win a bigger prize!

My whole family loves WWTBAMPI - it's one of the things we always try to catch when we go to MGM.

I missed out by one on the 'fastest finger' last time we were there and it still makes me sad - although DH probably wished I did make it just so I would shut up about 'what might have been' LOL. I really love the attraction but DH and DS couldn't care less, so we don't get to spend as much time as I would like. If it were just me I would probably hang out at MGM just to attend every show. I don't seem to do as well on the points though - I know I am answering correctly but never seem to move up in the points - any suggestions??

Congrats OP on being in the hotseat - just remember, you did more than the other 200+ people there so don't feel bad about anything :teeth:

My family loves WWTBAM and we'll go several times if the lines aren't long. My 3 children were in the fastest finger seats last trip and I was so proud. I don't think I would have been able to take it if one had actually gotten into the hot seat. I look forward to going again on next trip. Congratulations to those of you who've made it into the "hot seat". I can only imagine............

We always hit this several times. I have been #2 twice! I will absolutely freak if I ever make it into the hot seat. I am afraid of looking really stupid (and tripping on the way down the stairs).

I'm really looking forward to playing next week! But I do have a question - what % of the questions, do you guess, are about Disney movies or characters? As much as I love WDW, I'm not much of a movie buff so I know very few characters.

I was in the hot seat a couple of years ago and was SO nervous. I got up to the 125,000 point question and ended up walking. Stupid move, because I was actually right about the answer anyway. I should have guessed. At that time, though, the grand prize was a trip to NYC. Not too exciting, considering I live 40 min away! :rotfl:

Congrats to you that you made it to the hot seat. I know I'll never make it, DH has been closer but he has told me that he wouldn't want to be there, and wouldn't go if it were offered.

We do like the attraction.

Bobbi :flower:

Got in the hot seat Oct 2004. To see how I did, see my signature below.

Got back in 11/9 of this year and bombed at 250,000. I didn't think the 2nd time was an easier as far as nerves go!

DD and I love this attaction. She got to the hot seat on the fastest finger in May of this year. We've spent a whole day once going to show after show.

Mitros, you really should try it.
