We'll be at WWOHP on Tuesday 3/8. My 7 year old son and I are huge HP fans so this should be a lot of fun. The problem is, he's only 44 inches, so he can't do either of the big rides. I'm just wondering about what order we should do things in, and if there are any special things we should be sure to note. My husband will be there too, with our 5 year old, 2 year old, and 10 month old.

I'm assuming we should head to Ollivanders first? Then should we look in the shops or go on Flight of the Hippogriff? We'd like to do the castle tour.. is there usually a wait for that, or can we leave it 'til the end? When is a good time to get lunch?

Also.. I'm rather large, will I be able to go on Flight of the Hippogriff?

After we finish up with WWOHP, what other rides should we try in IOA?

I think we can get a shuttle, is that right? What time should we have it pick us up from ASMu? My kids won't need carseats on the shuttle, will they?

Thanks so much for all your help.. I've read through a lot of the WWOHP posts, but couldn't find answers to my questions.

From what I have been told OLLIVANDERS first..That one goes from no wait to HUGE wait within minutes

If you are going at open, then yes, yes, yes, by all means do Ollivanders first. PP is correct!

The Castle Tour queue has never had a wait that I've seen. You go through at your own pace. It mostly parallels the main queue, but it does miss some elements, such as the Greenhouse, and takes you through an alternate Portrait Room. Otherwise it hits all the other major queue elements.

For FotH, I've not heard anyone have issues with riding due to size. The restraint system is much like Goofy's Barnstormer in MK--a single lap bar--so if you can do that you should be able to do FotH. Since it is a single bar, a larger rider with a child might make the child's restraint pointless, since the bar won't be all that close to the child. Keep that in mind.

For your family, I would focus on WWoHP and Seuss Landing. SL has 4 rides that will be great for everyone. Marvel Superhero Island also has a teacups-type ride called Acceletron, and Jurassic Park has Pteranadon Flyers and Camp Jurassic, a play area that the kids should love.

As for the shuttle, there is no free service that I know of to get you between Universal and WDW--they're competitors of course. Others on here can give you advice on that one....

I would agree with going to Ollivander's first; it's a cute show but not worth a long wait. If the line isn't long, I would probably hit FOTH next. My 7 year old wanted to ride this multiple times. As PP mentioned, the size is similar to the Barnstormer. I would recommend you leave any bags with your DH as they can be a bit of a pain on the ride.
I have not heard of any long lines for castle tours, but not really sure. If you or DH want to try FJ, use the single rider line. My DH and the boys used it repeatedly last summer.
I also recommend that you watch the Frog Choir and Durmstrang/ Beauxbaton Academy shows since you are both Potter fans.

My DD7's favorite ride, hands down, was Spiderman. Not sure of the height requirement; I think it is 40". It's a little intense, but not really scary. She also enjoyed Storm Force (think teacups) and all of Seuss Landing. (especially the Cat in the Hat ride) She went on Jurassic Park, but didn't like it. My boys would have liked it at that age, though.

Not sure on the shuttles. I do know that some are like busses but I think some are more like vans in which case the little ones would need seats. Not sure of the prices, but it may be cheaper for you just to take a cab. (It would be a van.) They can provide carseats if asked, but again not sure on this. Or, your best bet may be to hire a car service or rent a car for the day. I think there is a transportation sticky at the top. Not sure if it answers these questions or not.
