My DH and I are going to Bahama Breeze tomorrow night so I am trying to plan ahead. I figure I will splurge all my flex points there as well as my nursing points and AP points for the day--this will give me between 45-50 points to use there. Do you think I will be OK with 1 "island drink" and a Jerk Chicken With red onions, mozzarella and fresh thyme (thin crust). There is no nutritional info for Bahama Breeze anywhere.

Thanks for any help!!

I wanted to add, the baby will have pumped milk with my mom while we are gone and I will "pump and dump" my milk after dinner. I don't want anyone thinking I am going to intoxicate my newborn:eek:

You've got a LOT of points to work with, so you'll be fine!

Let's see... Island drinks. I'd guesstimate 10-12 points for a 6 oz serving. (10 for fruit punch types, 12 for creamy types.) Does that sound reasonable?

For the Jerk Chicken pizza thingie... I don't know the size, but just for a ballpark guess, Boston Pizza has an individual sized Cajun Chicken pizza that weighs in at 18 points. I'd probably use that as my guesstimate.

Sounds like you've got some room for a little appetizer, or bread, or dessert also!

Enjoy, and let us know how the dinner is. I've never eaten at Bahama Breeze, and there's one near me that DH wants to try!

I checked a couple websites, and none have points values for Bahama Breeze, so I checked out the menu as if I were going and here's how I'd handle it:

To Drink:
Bahama Mama-Fresh squeezed orange juice, pinapple juice, Banana Liqueur, Malibu and Myers's Original Dark Rum...probably a pint glass with 4 ounces of alcohol and 12 ounces of juice for approximately 7 points...I personally would avoid the other drinks because I would get the pleasure from the Bahama Mama (or Rum Runner) without the extra points of "ices" or "sugar cane" listed in the other drinks.

To Eat, I would order either:
Bahamian Grilled Chicken on Greens Skewered with fresh vegetables and tamarind glazed, vine-ripened tomatoes and tropical vinaigrette...probably about 5 ounces of chicken on a free salad with the dressing on the side, measured out with my table teaspoon to three teaspoons of assumed to be regular dressing so 5 points for chicken plus two points for dressing or approximately 7 points.

Bahamian Grilled Chicken Kabobs Tamarind glazed with mushrooms, onions, peppers, squash and yellow rice...again probably 5 ounces of chicken (5 points) with free veggies, and the rice is approximately 5 points per fist, so I'd eat a fist sized amount and call it 10.

So for the drink and dinner, I'd have only used 14-17 points and wouldn't feel like I had to starve myself before or after. I might even have a roll! WITH BUTTER!

If it were me and I saved up a whole day of points and a whole week of points for that one binge, I know I'd set myself up for several days of binges trying to maintain several consecutive days of minimum point values. I wouldn't be satisfied enough and I'd either never make up the points for the dinner, or I'd crash and burn for several days.

So that's not exactly the answer you were looking for but maybe it's a helpful alternative!

Good luck and have fun!

For me the hardest part of going out to dinner is getting through ordering my food. I only need the will power to get through the ordering part, order healthy meals within my point ranges, and then I just sit back and live with my decision (I mean, CELEBRATE my decision).

It's like when I take my son through Dunkin Donuts drive-through, if I can just order his doughnut and my coffee at the speaker, by the time I put the car back in drive, I've achieved success, because I know I'd be too embarassed to get to the window and say to the woman "I've changed my mind, add another doughnut, with frosting please" and would be afraid the people behind me would be beeping like crazy for holding up the line and the whole world would know I am weak.

So often I want the pizza but get the chicken and am so glad I did afterward because it's made with a new spice I've never tried before, or a salad dressing that's delicious.

Thanks for the help! I LOVE Bahama Breeze and I have been craving their Jerk Chicken. I usually get the jerk chick pasta, but I think the pizza will be less points. I would rather not go then not get some kind of jerk chicken:D . I will still have 24 points I can use during the rest of the day, so I will not be starving myself the rest of the day.
I think I will have a Bahama Mama and the Jerk Chicken Pizza:D

Thanks for helping to keep me on track!!
