Wrong End of the Stick?

Good Evening Everyone,

I just spoke to Ken Bradshaw our guide tonight and we chatted about the possibility of us adding 30points at the BCV, I mention that I thought we could get say 30 points now for joining then when our use year comes round in August we get another 30. Ken told me that I would not get any points until our use year started until August, Did I get the wrong end of the stick from a post the other day, where it mentioned getting points now and then more when the use year starts?

You may have misunderstood the post you were reading... I didn't read that post, but from what you just stated, the poster purchased 30 August points (or whatever use year) & their plan was to buy another 30 when August rolled around... The truth of the matter is, NOBODY is getting points until August when the resort opens.... I think that's why Disney is offering the incentive of free nights...

Some are getting their points before the resort opens but there will only be 2002 points. That means if you have an August use year, you won't get point or pay dues until August. If you have Feb, you will get Feb points and have those before the resort opens.

Actually it depends on your use year of your current contract or if you are new you would get February. Basically what you are getting when you purchase is 2002 points. So if you are new like me, I just purchased so I am getting my 600 points on Feb 2002, I will get 600 new points on Feb 2003. The catch is I will not be able to use my 600 points from Feb 2002 until the resort acutally opens in August 2002.

If you are a current member with say a March use year, when you do an add on you would get March 2002 points, but could not use them until the resort opens in August. Basically, this works the same way with any other use month, you will get 2002 points in what ever use month you own. So in your case StephenKay, it just so happens that you have an August use month so you would get your 30 points August 2002 and be able to use them August 2002.
