Welllll...I was on the Post Waster thread and we were talking about writing...so I thought I'd start this baby up. Basically...I'll give you a challenge every week. You have to write a story based on that challenge. Ex: Topic: Survival in the Mountains

You'd write a story on that. Post on here if you'd like to join. I'll post the first challenge tomorrow morning. Just PM me your award-winning entries, by the due date that I'll give you tomorrow. This should be a lot of fun. And I'll try to come up with some little award for the winner of each challenge...that is, if people actually join.

That is quite fine. I plan to have a different set of writers every challenge. I mean...you can do all of them if you want to...but most people probably wont want to....

Just a hint: the topic will be something Disney

Okay, I know that morepeople will probably join in as this is going, but thats okay. The only thing that could be possibly bad is they wouldn't get as much time. But, here's the topic for softball chick(is your name Kelly?) and Erin and whoever else joins during this challenge!

You must write an entry about if you were a DHI in the Magic Kingdom. You must tell about one of your adventures. You do not have to mention Fynn, maybeck, Willa, Charlene, Philby, Amamda, or Jess. Pretend you are another century of DHIs. Tell about your fellow DHIs too. Example:

Stay quiet. Stay hidden. Stay under the radar. No one can find me. I kept repeating that over and over in my head as I sat, crouched, confused, and a litle scared, hiding from that...that, that creature out there. If it was to find me, I would surely be- CRACKLE! I heard the snap of a leaf on the ground. No! It couldn't have found me. What did it want with me?? I never even hea-

"Hiya, Abbi!"

Oh. Right. Of course. It was just Kaylee. I knew that. i was simple...um...testing you. Yeah...that's it. Testing you.

"Why are you hiding??", Kaylee bubbled, a little too loudly. I pulled herdown next to me, motioning for her to crouch like I was. I put a finger up to my mouth and whispered, quickly, "Shh!!! Why don't yu just get a megaphone and anounce it to the world??!!! I'm hiding from this thing that's out there.

"What thing?", Kaylee asked, loudly once again.

I mentally face-palmed. "Kaylee! I need you to listen to me. There's this creature out there. And...it wants to eat us."

She got real quiet all of a sudden.

Now...don't use my example. But, learn from it.Mine isn't all that great, but it's kinda what I'm looking for...just longer. You could make a short story....or a long one. But, it has to be atleast 5 paragraphs with at least 4 sentences in each.

Have fun! Can't wait to see what you creative peeps come up with!

Yes...I like that idea, Sara and Erin! We can post our entries on here. Just don't copy each other, okay?? And...I will have oppurtunities to do it, because I'm gonna have a different person pick the challenge and judge everytime. Maybe the winner. IDK. So...when I'm not judging I'll pick the winner. Sorry, ChaCha. I didnt think about that. I'll try to make it more general next time. I'd change it but some people are probably almost done... Thanks for the ideas, guys!! Now start posting those amazing entries!!!

Okay. Here it goes........


I lay on the rocky mountain ground, coughing and choking on the lingering smoke. I sat and examined myself. There were millions of little cuts and bruises it seemed. I stood up gingerly as my whole leg shrieked at me in pain. The crash certainly hadn't helped my limp. I wasn't sure if my knee was busted, my ankle was sprained, or my whole leg was broken. It could be all three. But it wasn't the right time to worry about my injuries. I had to find the others. I limped out of the smoke and stared in dismay at the helicopter crashed front first into the mountainside.

"Erica! Jesse!" I yelled, wondering if my friends were even alive.

"Up here Sam!" Jesse sounded from above. I looked up. I could just see Jesse's black hair and olive skin peering down at me from the top of some staircase like rocks. I skittered up as fast as I could. My heart leaped into my throat at what I saw when I reached the top.

Jesse was kneeling at Erica's side. He was beaten and battered, but that's not what scared me. Erica was lying motionless, her eyes closed. I ran over as best as I could and pulled Erica's dark head onto my lap, trying to ignore the pain signals.

"She's alive," Jesse said, "but only just."

Erica had had it the worst of all of us. She was a diabetic. We were all malnourished, but she had been low on insulin and sugars for days now. I knew it was at least three days. You can't find food with all the nutrients we need easily in the mountains. Erica had gone unconcious on the helicopter and it seemed she was still passed out. I looked at the wreckage.

Jesse had the answers I couldn't find in the pile of broken metal. "I think there was something wrong with the engine. We went down pretty quick. It's impossible for the pilots to have survived. They never had a chance. Some of the paramedics might have been thrown out, like us. But there's a good chance thery're dead. And if they lived, I never saw them."

Erica interupted us. "Jesse....Samantha......"

"Shush," I said. "You need to keep your strength and your energy up. Shut up and call me Sam."

Erica gave a shaky laugh. "Always the firm, army general-like leader, eh Sam?" But she fell silent. I decided not to dignify that with a comment.

A thought came to me, and I stiffened. Jesse looked concerned. "What?"

I looked at him grimly. "These mountains aren't going to let us go without a fight." And as I looked at Jesse, Erica, and the wreckage, I wondered what the price of this fight would be.
