Wrist band cash? Carrying money at the waterparks?

Question for those of you who have been to TL or BB.

At our local water park(adventure island) they have something called carribbean cash. You go up to the window and give them a credit card. They ask how much money you want...I usually say $50 and they place a wrist band on your arm with bar codes on it. Whenever you buy food or drinks or souveniers, the cashiers have a little scanner that reads your wristband and tells you how much cash you have left. You can wear this armband in all the pools and on all the slides and it is not damaged. At the end of the day, you just leave and they automatically credit your cc back with whatever portion you haven't spent. Works like a charm and I love it because I don't have to carry cash and don't have to run back to our bags or locker to get cash for an impulse ice cream purchase or whatever.

Anyway, the question is, do they have anything like this at BB or TL?

I'm not sure, but bumping for you as this would be awesome.

Not that I saw last summer!

I will tell you I bought a lanyard with a plastic water'resistant' pouch attatched...

it leaked... really bad, I had a food voucher, cash, and my 'key' in it! Always filled with water!! Now I went to REI, a camping/outdoor/ speciality store and purchased one that states "water proof" and is made for cell phones, PDA's... I sure hope so, as DS needs it for his hearing aides!

That wrist band thing would be really nice! But no, Disney doesn't have anything like that. We keep our money in a locker and get it out as we need it.

We have one of these from Castaway Cay! Thanks for reminding me....I need to "dunk test" it today. I'm going to put a piece of paper in it and dunk it under water and see how it holds up. We need something to carry our cash in since they apparently don't have the wristband thing.

I'm hoping they do and maybe everybody has kind of missed it. It's not widely advertised at our water park either and lots of people don't know about it.

I think we just used our "key to the world" or whatever it's called. If you're a resort guest your room "key" can also be your credit card. No cash needed everything is just billed to your room. We LOVE this feature. Even the ice cream and hotdog/popcorn stands take it. It's easy and convenient and dare I say water proof.

I'm sure that's all we used last time we went to the water parks

I use a SurfSafe (from http://www.witzprod.com/witzprod/product.cfm) and it has never leaked. It's quite small (2.5" wide x 3.7" high x .75" deep), just large enough to hold my room key, one credit card, the key to the room safe and a couple of folded bills. If it ever did come off from around my neck, it floats so I wouldn't have to search around on the bottom of the pool for it. However, when I go down the water slides I tuck it into the top of my swimsuit just in case.

My DH has one too and tucks his into the pocket of his swim shorts. I sewed some narrow velcro along the edge of his pocket which keeps everything secured, otherwise whatever he put in there tended to float right out once he got in the water. (I remember floating around in a lazy river once and seeing our little tube of sunscreen go floating by. I grabbed it and when I caught up with DH handed it back to him. He didn't even know it had floated away out of his pocket.)

Lisa that looks more practical, well for me anyway, I dont think my dh would wear anything!! :rotfl:

Here's the brand I bought, but I have a smaller one, this says its water tight, submersible...

I know I paid with a $10 bill!! It was with the canoe section in our outdoor store! And on that note dh said some of the swim trunks also have a built in wallet that's supposed to be the waterproof ones... :confused3

If you decide to go with the lanyard and plastic thingie they sell at the water parks..be very careful, especially at the wave pool in Typhoon Lagoon! One of the waves got mine...along with my money!!

Thanks for the product info guys - I just ordered a SurfSafe. Planning on doing mainly water parks this coming trip & was looking for this type of product.

I bought the medium-sized holder at Typhoon Lagoon on our recent trip and it worked fine. No leaking or anything, and I wore it all day at TL and BB in the wave pools and on rides. :)

I also bought one at Typhoon Lagoon last summer and it worked fine. I was able to put my car key, room card and a few bills inside. It didn't leak at all and I think it cost around $5.00. It makes a neat little souvenir too. I just wore it around my neck and tucked it into my bathing suit when we did the slides. :flower:
