Prayers and pixie dust please for my neighbors here in Gurnee. Thankfully, we're on the west side of town and for the most part we're dry.
The pictures in the paper and on the news don't even come close to showing the destruction. My neighbor is the fire chief and he says it is truly heart renching to see what some of these families have lost.
Not to mention the high school kids were supposed to start finals tomorrow with graduation this coming Sunday, and they most likely will miss the entire week of school.
Navigating around town is next to impossible, with all but one street across the river closed. They are trying to keep that street open with sand bags, but if we get all the rain they are predicting this week end, it doesn't look good.
