Just got back from a trip 12/15-12/20 staying at the BWV. I have to say I really liked the BW! I've only stayed at BCV and AKV and really was impressed with the BW. Loved having a Boardwalk view. We were on the 2nd floor and heard no noise - and I am a VERY light sleeper.

One day we went over to the Wilderness Lodge to see the tree and I was just blown away by this resort! :goodvibes We happened to ride the boat with other DVC members that were HUGE VWL fans. So they told us so much about the resort, where things were, and food suggestions. The lobby in the lodge is truly amazing and the decorations made it even more beautiful. We took a walk over to the villas and I honestly felt right at home - even though I wasn't staying there. The lobby in the villas was gorgeous and the theming just blew me away! Loved the fireplaces and the inviting feeling. We went down one of the halls and were peeking in a room that had the door open. The people let us in to see the room, lol! It was a 1 BR and was so nice. This is definitely a place I'd like to stay on my next visit.

We had yummy salads and that big mystery cookie bar thing at Roaring Forks and looked around the pool area. What a great way to spend the afternoon! I can see why this resort has so many fans. I can't wait to stay there!! :thumbsup2

The WL at Christmas is amazing.

We're staying at VWL twice this year -- the first in less than 2 weeks.

You need to visit here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2265436. We all have something in common!

Grab a rocking chair on the back porch and sit a spell with us.:goodvibes

We are kinda partial to the place ourselves;)

As Muushka said, join us. We are a friendly bunch, with lots of love for each other and the Lodge

I wanted to stay there for our little trip in July, but I am short by 2 points! ugggggh! Two points are keeping me away from VWL ...saddness.

Wow, we can't wait for our March trip when we are staying in a 2 bedroom villa. It sounds amazing. We have been over there for a visit before but can't wait to stay! :woohoo:

We are the same way! This is one DVC my DH really wants to stay at. We went for dinner on our last trip and my DH fell in love with it but we do love the mountain lodge feel though. Hopefully we can get the boys to let us stay there one day in the near future. I think my DH would consider letting me get points there if i could let him stay there.

We love the VWL, it's our favorite of all of the DVCs! I'm glad you like it too! Everything about it says "Welcome Home!"

Bobbi:goodvibes

I am a new VWL lover thanks to our last trip! I can see many more trips to the lodge in the future. Truely a magical resort.

VWL was our first DVC stay (we were there in December so we got to enjoy all of the wonderful decorations). We fell in love with the resort and hope to visit again sometime soon. :lovestruc

I'm sure I'm in the minority saying this but the only thing that could make it better would be a ski slope outside, lol! And it could be an indoor one - that would be fine. I'm sure it's the skier/hiker/mountain lover in me that also draws me to the lodge. To be in Disney sitting in the gorgeous lobby with my ski clothes on? OMG I could die of sheer happiness :rotfl:

VWL is our home resort, and staying there next, after a few years of trying out all the other resorts.

Be careful what you ask for as we were there one December when it was 29° while we watched Wishes. We caught the boat back to the VWL and got stuck outside in the front with the wind wipping. We raced back to the villas and sat our frozen bums right in front of the fireplace right next to the tree in the villas. I think it took a good hour to thaw out. While it wasn't "white" outside, it sure did feel like we were in Killington that night. Brrrrrrrrr:santa:
