and this was my 1st day for my 1st trip to WDW!
I was able to get Chef Mickeys but for our first night in Orlando (we aren’t doing a park that day and were planning to relax that night after driving) but I took what I got. BOG was full for our 1st day in the park so tomorrow I will check to see if I can get in our 2nd night and then move my schedule around so the days I had planned to go to certain parks are trashed now LOL It’s very stressful to find a restaurant 6 months before you go and not get dining reservations. Man, Disneyland is sooooo much easier.

Agree Disneyland is easier. However do not give up on your plans something will open up just keep checking. It might ba awhile. I would guess that many people make good ADRs and then forget about them for a while. Also it appears that Disney is releasing a few ADRs at a time.

If you are staying on property you can make all your adr at once instead of doing them one day at a time.

I'm not. We have a timeshare and that's what I think is wrong and a bit unfair

it's not wrong. Disney would prefer that you give money to them to stay in their resorts, so they will sweeten the deal a bit. You can choose to stay with them to get first shot, or you can choose to stay offsite and book restaurants day by day.

Don't worry - you will probably be able to get almost everything you want. I have gotten Ohana dinner and Le Cellier lunch 2 weeks before a trip. It just takes patience and the time and energy to stalk the website.

I also think people make a ton of "in case" reservations at 6 months out, but then when their trips gets closer , they cancel the ones that won't work for them. I think the ADr's start freeing up after the 60 day mark, when people have decided what parks they will be visiting on a particular day.

Yes! Check one to two days out! My friend got BOG the day before bc of cancellations!

I have had the most luck 24-48 hours before getting Ohana, BOG, Chef Mickey's....the popular places. Keep checking!!!

There are so many fantastic choices, just go with what is available and enjoy it! Plus, if you have must-do's... don't give up. Spots will open closer to time!

I second everyone else! Just stalk the website 1-2 weeks before the trip, you can get pretty much anything you want that way. We planed a last minute trip for the end of this month, I only had a 24 days head up that we were even going.... We leave in a week, but our ADR's are done. I got BOG, Ohana, Chef Mickey's, etc... all right before. Don't give up! Especially on a BOG! I saw a TON of those opening up just for my 5 days trip, in only the past few days. Also, don't forget the disboard cancellation thread. You can find someone canceling on a day you want and PM them and coordinate. : )

This!! I think there is a lot of overbooking until people have booked their FP+ at 30 or 60 days out. Then we should hopefully start to see things open up!!
