I am going back (hopefully) in October for 5 nights....so far, only my DD16 has said she wants to go. I don't know if DH or DD18 will be joining us or not. If they do, they do....if not, it's money saved
When I made my tentative plan, I booked a 1BR value at Jambo but I split it into 2 reservations, one for 2 nights and one for 3 nights, with the intention of trying to stay in a studio somewhere else for the first 2 nights. Initially, I thought that if the point requirement was significantly lower, we could maybe "upgrade" to a standard 1BR over at Kidani for the second half of our trip. Unfortunately, when the 7 month window opened up, I was too slow and almost every studio on site was booked for those 2 nights (a Wed and Thurs). I realized that a preferred studio at the Riviera was exactly the same number of points as the 1BR value at Jambo (that's CRAZY!) so I decided to throw in a wait list request. Well what do you know?? It worked!! About a week later, I got the email that was welcoming me home to my stay at the Riviera! OMG!! I am so excited! The studios at the Riviera have been booked almost every night in October for months and I thought my chances to stay there were going to be ZERO. We only own 100 points so using 42 points for 2 nights seems ridiculous to me, especially for a studio, but YOLO, right?!
I toured the Riviera with my dad last October when we went on our trip together and I loved it! The rooms are amazing (well, all except for "the broom closet", aka the tower studio) and Topolino's was the best restaurant, hands down. I almost wish I could stay the whole trip there, but I haven't stayed at my beloved AKV home in a while and I miss it. I sure wish Jambo was going to be open (or that I could score one of those "pixie dust upgrades" to Kidani!) because I would much prefer Kidani to Jambo, but I will deal with what I booked. It's DISNEY!
