We had a 1 bed booked at SSR 5/1/5 - 5/7/5 - we have now invited someone else along to help out with the kids - thought I may have trouble getting a 2 bed this late and also with the celebrations on May 5th - but no not at all it was a breeze - member services changed it in about 30 seconds flat - whether that is because SSR is empty like another poster thought or I just got lucky I don't really care because we're going home

and i'm beginning to get excited about going

I don't think it is empty at all - 2-bedroom are not their highest demand - now if you trying for a studio - you might have had a problem.

Congrats we called and got a studio at SSR for the end of May at a month and a bit out.

spiceycat - excuse my ignorance here - but why would a studio be more difficult - I assumed that there are less 2 beds and therefore it would be harder to get them

I see I still have an awful lot to learn about DVC

Studios are more difficult because lots of folks rent them for the cheaper points. Also, because there are lots of lock-off units that can be broken down into 1 bedroom and studio or 2 bedrooms, that would make studios taken up as 2 bedrooms more difficult too.

there are several members like me - that only have 1 or 2 people in their family - they like to go more often or stay longer - either situation make the studio - very, very popular.

with the new annual pass discount - I think studios will be harder to get! they were before when DVC gave us free passes.

before when I asked MS which type of villa was the most in demand - it was the studio, then 3-bedroom, then 2-bedroom, with the 1-bedroom the last filled.

I haven't asked in a while - so I might again....
