Wow..some adults never cease to amaze me

We (DS10 and I) watched illuminations this past October from the Chase viewing area. We arrived over an hour early and got a "front row" spot by the fence. Since we arrived so early and had been on our feet all day, we sat and waited. When the show began, we stood. A lady somewhere behind us made snide comments about us standing. Sorry, but we arrived 30-40 minutes before you and we didn't wait longer than you to have a view obstructed by fence bars! We would've liked to spend that extra time enjoying Food and Wine, too, but made the fireworks view our priority; they could have done the same...

The worst Disney World behavior I have ever witnessed happened on a bus back to our resort.

We hopped onto a bus that already had a dozen or so people on in it. Immediately we could sense the tension of a situation but it took about 30 seconds to figure it out. The driver was kindly telling a lady sitting in the middle/back area that she could not leave her folded stroller in the aisle. To be fair, the woman had a sleeping child on her lap. It would have been a bit of hassle for her to move the stroller, but she could have don't it. Instead of of complying or even saying no with a tone of respect, this woman went off on the driver dropping f-bombs and numerous other words. Finally, a guy who we presumed to be her husband got up and moved the stroller. We left and headed back to the resort.

Once we got there, everyone got off the bus. The guy who had moved the stroller was just some random person ... he got off the bus and walked off with another group of people. A different guy who had been on the bus and did nothing to help the driver or the woman turned out to be the husband!

I don't know who was worse, the lady for yelling and cursing at the driver, or the husband for letting some other person help remedy the situation.

Another random thought about sitting and standing...

We were in the hub for parade/Share the Magic/fireworks one night early in FP+ testing. There were 8 of us sitting together in the FP+ section and once the parade ended we decided to stay even though we knew people might "push in" to our spot. People came but were very respectful.

As everyone was waiting for Share the Magic, they sat down. Pretty much the whole hub area forward to the castle was just a sea of sitting people. And you know what? When the show started everyone stayed just like that. It was one of the most pleasant viewing experiences I've ever had at Disney. To be corny, it was totally magical... so calm and enjoyable. No pushing, no shoving, no people clamoring for a better spot. Still makes me smile.

If that were the case, then I would expect my tickets to be cheaper than a child's ticket. Sorry, but my family is no less a family because we don't have children. And while I would not deliberately block a child's view, if I put the wait time in, I have earned the right to a good view.

On our honeymoon many years ago, we were at CR waiting for the electric water pageant on the beach. There was NOBODY on the beach but us. Not another human being. So we layed out our little blanket and sat on the beach waiting for the show. A few minutes before it started, along comes these two ladies who plop themselves down right in front of us on the beach. The entire EMPTY beach. Not next to us. Not 10 feet in front of us. Like 3 feet in front of us! So bizarre.

Yes, we moved.

I am honestly asking what someone with a large family and multiple wives would do at a crowded parade, I certainly didn't mean offense.

I don't presume to know what Walt would have wanted, but wasn't his vision a place where children AND their parents could make memories together? (As opposed to a place where only the children have fun and the adults look on.) not to mention if every adult moved back so as not to block a child, families would be separated and you'd end up with a sea of kids up front and all adults in the back. Mass mayhem trying to reunite kids with their parents! It's just not even practical.

So, in my opinion, if you (general "you", not talking to any one poster here) want your child to have a good view, get there early! Don't expect me and my family to give up the spot we waited an hour+ for just because you didn't plan for it. We don't like losing park time to hold parade spots, either, but we do it to gain an excellent view.

My understanding is that when Disney wants you to sit, they provide seats (Fantasmic!, shows, restaurants, Lights Motors Action, etc). If there are no seats, I assume they want me to stand.

Thank you! When my kids were little we didn't see many parades because they wouldn't be content to sit long enough ahead of time to get a good spot. !The people who staked out those spots should be allowed to view the parade however they chose.
