Wow - Nothing available!

I called today, right at 7 months, for a five day reservation in December. Nothing available, anywhere. I was hoping against hope for BCV, BWV, VWL, AKV, or even OKW but nothing was availabe, not even SSR (which I already have reserved). I refused to call day by day, so I know that puts me at a further disadvantage.

I knew it would be tight but I figured, right at seven months, if I wasn't picky about room type (any 1 or 2br) or resort, that something would show up. so I'm on the waitlist for epcot resorts...sigh. should I even bother?

I can't say I'm surprised about that. I would definitely bother to try a waitlist. As long as you have a ressie already, just waitlist for your favorite choice and hope for the best. Oh, and I'd probably not waitlist for either of the smallest resorts.

Yes I have found that as the club has grown getting popular times of the year is nearly impossible. It has fustrated me and have in the past considered selling both my OKW and Boardwalk because of that reason. I sometimes wonder what did I buy into even though I love disney and always will. I wish you the best

If you can still keep your SSR reservation, decide what you really want, and probably best if it were a 1 bedroom, and waitlist day by day for a particular resort. Probably some of those home resort reservations are "just in case" like yours at SSR is.

I do think you will get something if you narrow what you want, and do it day at a time waitlist.

Also, I think there's a period, maybe the 3rd week of December, that's too close for Christmas, the bit higher points come into play that you may find availability. I think people go early in the month and then sort of "at Christmas" but I do think there's a bit more open time in between. Of course, it may not be the case any more, it was for me in '03.

That is a busy time down there. I called at the 11 month window for NYE week this year and it was filling up very quickly. That being said we waitlisted last year at the 8 month window for NYE week which was in May and it came through in August. Waitlists do work!!! Good Luck.
