It doesn't get much better than this. Game 7 in 2001 was pretty incredible but I think overall, this was a greater accomplishment for the franchise. The first NL pitcher since Dennis Martinez in 1991 to throw a perfect game and only the seventh in the NL. Randy pretty much solidified his place in Cooperstown. I'll be interested in talking to Kata and Cintron when the guys get back on the 31st. I am sure both of them were just hoping no one hit the ball to them for fear of making an error. It looked like Randy and Robby Hammock were on the same page most of the night. Randy only shook him off a few times. Pretty good considering the relatively few times Hammock has caught for Johnson.
Should be a fun time for the team in Atlanta tonight. I know Curt called Randy after the game, must have been an interesting conversation.
I'm in such a good mood I am going to completely ignore Goofy4Pluto's Curt Schilling and Craig Counsell comment.
