Well, after staying at VWL last week, we moved to OKW for a few days
and I saw the new slide for the first time. It surprised me on the size
of it. It's really going to dominate the pool area.

Yes, I had seen photos of the rendition, and the clay model, and Doc's
pictures, but the size really jumps out when you see everything all
at once.

Just to share I took several photos and used the computer's photo stitch
feature to create a panoramic view of the area. The slide is all grey
and not highly visible yet. It's in the middle of the photo between the
two sets of trees. Just compare it's size to the lighthouse and other
OKW buildings.

You'll have to use the scroll at the bottom of the screen to see the full
picture left to right.

Caskbill,
Am I missing something? I could not find the picture.
Thanks

I see it, it's in more to the middle, higher than the trees, bushes. It does look like a castle! Thanks.

I think it especially looks large when you are standing near the pool area. I forgot to look if they took out the big sand bucket etc. Did you notice?

Thanks - I love the panaromic picture. I could stare at it all day. :teleport:

The photo should be just below my name (Bill) and my signature section. If you don't have anything there at all, then I can think of two possible causes:

1. Your browser may not be set to display pictures. If using I.E. 6.0 it would be: Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Look for the section labeled Multimedia and be sure the box is checked for Show Pictures .

2. Your personal settings for the DIS board may not be set to show photos. To fix, click at the top of this page on User CP, select Edit Options, go down to the section labeled Thread Display and make sure the box is checked for Show Images

This photo is a panorama and will not fit on your computer's screen all at once. You should automatically get a scroll bar at the bottom of the browser's screen. Use this to scroll to the far right of the photo and back. When the scroll is set to approximately the middle, the castle slide will be about the middle of the photo, between the two sets of trees.

According to Doc opening day for the slide is 12/22. We check in on 12/22 for a tooo short 3 day visit. Have not told the kids yet that they maybe among the 1st to use the new slide :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:   :rockband:

Last I spoke with MS (this past Friday 12/10) they said the pool and slide were set to open on 12/16 - but this could change at any time of course.

Unless they change it again, 12/22 is suppose to be the current opening date. As of today the slide is still grey and not painted. There's no way it will be ready to open tomorrow. (Thursday the 16th)

Thanks for the photo Bill. I had intended to drop by OKW on my most recent WDW visit this past week to check out the progress of the construction. Unfortunately, I never made it "home", so I appreciate the photo.
