So, I booked a flight with Delta to leave Nov. 30 - return Dec 8. I booked it in March. I checked my confirmation in June and noticed that my flight had been changed on the return flight, and noticed that I would have completely missed the connecting flight. I called them and they rectified the problem....or so I thought.

I called them today just to find out what the price would be to change my ticket to leave a day before (we would have been leaving on BF's Bday - thought it would be nice to get there a day sooner). Had I not called, we would have had a RUDE awakening in the airport. Apparently, someone at Delta had booked me on a Northwest Flight for the flight to the connecting city, but on Delta Skywest on the way home, and apparently, this wasn't supposed to happen?!?!?! (They called this an agent error). Therefore, she told me, I would have probably not been able to get home on the day, OR they would have cancelled our flight booking and rescheduled for 5am that same morning, instead of the 5:30 pm flight that we had...WTH??? Had I not called, she told me, they probably wouldn't have figured out the problem until we got to the airport for departure, then we would have had to wait for the NEXT available flight, and that could have been who knows when....well, I'm happy I called.

Anyways, to make a long story short, we got not only the flight to Orlando that we wanted, we are also staying a day LATER, and now my honey gets to celebrate his whole birthday in Universal Studios instead of being on a plane, and also now we get to stay a day later - all at the cost of $0 - Delta took the cost because of their error!! I was willing to pay - really was expecting to, but they said they made the error and it had to get changed anyways, so why not take the extra day and enjoy??? Now, the problem lies with finding a place to stay....we had a time share booked and we can't stay another day there, but I guess that just gives me some more excuses to plan more!!!

Things happen for a reason. You are supposed to stay that extra day. Like you said make the best of it! Our flights to LAX in November were changed also. Fortunately we were emailed about them and the time only changed a little bit so no biggie for us. You gave us a reminder to check check and double check and dont assume anything! Have a fun trip!

Why not splurge and spend the $$ you would have had to on the ticket (had it not been Delta's mistake) on a one night stay at one of the Universal hotels??

We did plan on one more night at Universal - already booked. The problem lies with the last night....but, we already found an extra night at the condo....so, all is good and we now have tons of planning to do!!! 2 extra unexpected days can put a smile on anybodys face!!! :thumbsup2
