I know in Canada AC actually does well on price and has the best schedules..I had to make some flts last summer from Halifax to Victoria and tried to find better but couldn't. However, doesn't look like they can't compete on south of the border, even with the extra driving time/expense.
We have enough AP points for 3 tickets Halifax to MCO (not great dates or great routing, but close enough for free), and we are a family of 4. I just tried to figure out how much that one extra seat would cost us--in Dec, returning on the 2Oth, so hardly holiday season, cheap non-refundable "tango" fare--and it's still over $700 for ONE person! Holy crow!! Guess if we're going, we'll be driving to NH or something to catch a plane.
