Hey there all my fellow Canadian Dis'ers!

I thought I would share this just in case any of you are thinking of a last minute quick trip down to the world.

Frontier has $20USD one way and $40 USD round trip seats to Orlando from Buffalo on many different days this morning.

For example Saturday Jan 20th to Sat Jan 27th is $40.

You do need to pay for large sized carry on and luggage on top of that but you are allowed one carry on if it will fit under the seat ahead of you. If you want to select your seats, you need to pay for that (Just so you are aware)

We flew Frontier from Detroit about a year and a a half ago and it was actually very very good, better for me than Jet Blue (but I had a terrible Jet Blue experience which included them ruining my favorite suitcase)

This is a fabulous last minute price and I hope some of you can use the info...

Great prices, but then I saw a terrible review site. Average of 1 star based on 179 ratings. Not sure I would want to risk it despite the great pricing. Anyone have a good experience with them?

Yes, we flew with them from Detroit to Orlando and really liked them.

I had gotten a crazy Black Friday price that meant four of us could fly for under $200 Canadian. I was a little miffed at having to pay for the luggage under ( I paid ahead of time and did one bag both ways so it really wasn’t any different than major airlines but not as good as southwest )

The flight was excellent, I don’t know what I was expecting but it was as good if not better than jet blue and honestly about the same as southwest. Maybe I lucked out and had excellent staff but the plane was brand new, big seats and for the short time in the air it was fine. There was one guy who tried to sit at a premium seat and got booted out but the attendant was pleasant about it and there was no drama.

We took very small carry ones and they fit no problem under the seat in front. Hubby took all the electronics, I took the bathing suits and toiletries and the kids took clothing essentials.

I would not hesitate to fly them again but I would make sure that you price out their extras first. I personally think that if you can fly non stop round trip to Orlando with service comparable to southwest or jet blue or even rouge for about what it would cost to have dinner at the mandarin it is one heck of a great deal. Each to their own tho

@mort1331 let me know what you think, I am glad you got seats.

My thinking is its just me and my dd6 will be 7 down there for her bday. It is a less than hours. If I can sit through the Reverent and last, the flight should be no problem.
I priced out all others,, and including the one checked bag. That is all we need. It will still be less than others with the exchange, drive, and time.
I wasnt planning this trip, but the price put me on my quest. I have DVC, but did not want to blow the points on a 1 bdrm that was available for just the 2 of us.
So checked it out and found POP available. I will rent the points out and it will cover almost the whole trip.
Also have 12 prepaid 5 day passes thanks to AM. But went a head and bought the Can discount ones. Save the AM for later, they dont expire and will only become better value for the whole family.
Still looking at where to eat and pricing that out, but with the increase for the dinning plan, I do not think we will even be close enough for the DP. Go with OOP.
The only thing I am bummed about is no FoP FPs available. But I did not expect any. We will RD and just wait a shorter time in the am, We are normally out of the house here at 7am. That is her too, so shouldnt be too bad.

I obsessively LOVE to plan travel but sometimes nothing beats a last minute whirl wind trip, especially if it is to celebrate a birthday, your daughter must be over the moon!

I'm not too concerned about an uncomfortable seat for a couple of hours or being nickel-and-dimed (I would expect that for such cheap fares), but there are multiple reviews citing several hour delays or cancellations and being unable to fly out until the next day or several days later. That would absolutely ruin my vacation.

For sure, I totally appreciate this.
I can only speak to my experience and it was well above what I expected.
I fly a few times a year and I have had good and bad on all airlines but I think if I was flying with little kids or had to be to a specific appointment or something like that I would consider those elements.
Southwest had a rep like that waaay back years ago and I kind of turned a blind eye to all of that the first time I flew them. My bff has been in the travel industry for over 25 years and she laughed at me the first time we flew Southwest, quoted many negative stats and even said I was taking away from the travel industry of Ontario (all valid points at the time) but for me, the price talked.

Fully understand the concern. But we have been bumped with sunwing all over the place. And for Rouge, I will take my chances with Frontier. I will let you know how it goes.

Yeah, there is no question that stuff like this happens with ALL airlines, or even worse things, like being dragged off the plane bleeding from the mouth :crazy2:
Frontier just seems to have more than their fair share of problems from what I can see. I would rather pay a little more and deal with the devil I know, than risk the devil I don't know. It is definitely hard to pass on those prices though. Sprint is another airline that is cheap(er) and I know a lot of people who have flown with them, but I've never done so.

@mort1331 youe daughters are so lucky to have you as a dad! I remember you taking a solo Halloween trip with one of them 2 years ago, you are creating some wonderful memories. Couple of things worth mentioning about this super exciting trip -- a good friend just got back and she said that they are apparently releasing same day FP+ for the Avatar rides around 8-ish so you could still luck in and get some of those! Also not sure how you feel about making a trip to DS (there are now direct buses from the parks after 4) but you could sign up for accounts with both Earl of Sammie and Blaze pizza, I'm continually getting emails from both of them with offers for either discounts or in the case of Blaze, i have a 2 for 1 offer on my card right now that we'll be using in TO soon since they just opened a location right across from the Eaton Centre :D

Can't wait to hear how the flight works out for you

That's great Jac.I will look into that. We are heading to DS first day, link our Can tick. And I already know my daughter she will want to head to Dlux burger. But I do like Earl, have not tried Blaze yet, but I know we will be going to Via Napoli.

shhh she doesnt know. It would be crazy for the next 3 weeks if she did.

Oh WOW- we used to try and surprise our kids and do big reveals for trip, it was so much fun!

They are young adults now and have so many social plans there is no way I could coordinate something like that now and keep it a surprise.

@Donald - my hero thanks for the reminder about Earl of Sandwich and Blaze, I am always on the look out this kind of thing!
