I was well over 2000 before I got a tag. I did not want one and I would take it off if I knew how! The reason that people with 20K are tagless is that they take them off. I mean ...Just look at MINE!

You are right you do not need no stinkin' tags!

Just go to edit profile and get rid of them if you don't like them, but then the tag fairy will be mad and you may never get anymore.

I have over 1,000 posts. Still no tag. I know a lot of people that have many more posts than me- your post count doesn't count for a tag. But, I believe in the TF!

I would also watch for the TF thankyous, and find the thread they got their tag on. I got 3 in 2 weeks, and 2 were on threads where there were a lot of tags given. TF's definitely find some threads more amusing than others, and dole out tags accordingly. Just a pattern I recognized, as I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time. GL!
