Here's the newest thrill at Cedar Point!

Here's Screamscape.com's description of it:

Top Thrill Dragster, a $25 million dollar investment, has been dubbed by the park as the World’s First Strata-Coaster and for good reason. After pulling out of the station the train will prepare to launch you at 120 mph in just four seconds. Scream now because you wont have much air left in you as the train hits the monolithic 420 foot tower. On your way up the vertical spike you’ll twist 90º, as we’ve seen over at Knott’s on their Xcelerator. You’ll get a breath-taking view at the top for about half a second before you take the 400 foot plunge back to Earth while spiraling 270º around it’s axis, and you’ll hit nearly 120 mph again before you cross the finish line and slam into the magnetic brakes. From Launch to brakes the ride will take only about 15 seconds of your life, but it’s sure to be 15 seconds that you will remember forever. The ride will boast 6 heavily themed 16 seat, 5 car trains with a similar restraint system to Xcelerator. Due to the themed look the first and last car will only seat 2 riders while the center three cars will hold 4 riders each in 2 rows. Each of the six trains will have it’s own custom paint job as well: Black Cherry, Indy Green, Fluorescent Purple, Cobalt Blue, Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Red.

Would you ride it?

I'm stuck between a rock and hard place on this one. In order to get on this, I'd have to have a few drinks. If I have a few drinks, I'll barf on the ride for sure. So I guess I'll have to pass. :D

Oh yeah! Depending when it opens, I plan on riding it this year! :)

I hope that it's open in time for Memorial Day weekend. Sounds like a great way to start the weekend festivities.

Cedar Point just keeps dreaming up newer and greater thrills every year. I would ride it at least twice. The first time you are too scared to know if you like it or not!

It wouldn't be me if I didn't ride it!! Absolutely positevely YES!

Definitely!!

I was just reading about this today when CP sent me an email telling me about it. It looks thrilling. If it is a totally verticle drop back down though I might not be able to get SO on it with me. I will just have to leave out the specifics when I tell him about it!! Evil aren't I? ;)

Grinningghost,
LOL!:) I'm with you!

Wow, all you Texans ARE brave! Actually, I finally got up the nerve to do the Millenium Force this fall and loved it! Front row! Yippee! Don't know about the new one though. I am a firm believer in sysematic risk taking, but I'm not getting any younger. I'm sure DS12 will coerce me into it in due time. :p

I'm probably very naive, but what/where is CEDAR POINT????

Absolutely not. No way. Never. Not a chance in Hell!

Ceder Point is in Sandusky Ohio. It and Magic Mountain (in California) are constantly battling over the record for the tallest or fastest coasters in the US. Unless I rememeber wrong, Ceder Point currently holds the record for the most coasters in a US park.

Sure, heck yeah -- build it and I'll ride it!!

The only issue I'll have with the ride is similar to Wicked Twister -- a 2 hour wait for a ride less than a minute?? I'd rather ride Millenium Force a couple more times.

Yeah in a minute!!!
Sounds and looks awesome!
