Would you report your neighbor for an abused and neglected dog?

Why is every thread turning into a fight lately???? I cant barely stand to come to the CB anymore!

My goodness... What is it with this place? Why be so quick to condemn and disparage people that you don't even know?

Blondie, you did the right thing. It's always so much easier for some folks to sit at their computer criticizing and telling others what they should do.

The CB should have a warning: Post at your own risk!

LuAnimal & VH- Blondie said the dog has lived next door for 2 years, not that it has been physically abused for 2 years. She said upon seeing the dog after not seeing the dog for three days, she felt in her heart that the dog was abused, and she immediately made a phone call. She started the ball rolling immediately. After posting here asking others what they would do, she left the DIS for a while and continued to make phone calls to the authorities. She went "gung ho" - immediately. Blondie is kind, loving, funny, LOVES animals and abhors animal abuse. She posted asking what others would do. She knew not to wait around for the people of the CB to answer her thread in order for her to do something, something that is in her nature and in her heart. Good grief, if she did that, she could end up in real trouble! :p

Hopefully the dog went to a vet, then up for adoption. I know how much you love animals, especially dogs Blondie, I imagine this has weighed heavily on your mind and heart. Job well done! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

The dog is gone, don't know whether it was removed by Animal Control or they took it to a Vet or what, but it's gone. Maybe Animal Control will call and let me know?

Thanks for the concern everyone, I know I did the right thing by calling the day I posted this thread, I just needed a little support since I've never done something like this before.

Good for you Blondie!!!! I am sure this was a pretty angst filled experience for you, but, you did the correct thing, IMHO.
Not sure if they will call you, but, you certainly can call them.

Fellow Virginian - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call the SPCA or, call the following number: It's to the Middleburg Humane Foundation. I don't know where you are located but this organization is run by a woman who should be sainted for her saving of countless dogs, cats, goats, horses, pigs from cruel and inhumane treatment. Her name is Hilary Bogely (sorry if I misspelled her name), she or someone in her organization will know what to do and may even contact authorities for you. That man is committing a crime in our state and he can get charged.

(540) 364-3272 is the number. PLEASE PLEASE CALL! You can be anonymous.

I didn't read thru all the posts because my heart is sickened.

You know the police say that Jeffrey Dahmer committed multiple acts of animal cruelty. Any man who would mistreat an animal or a child is no man but a coward.

Please call Hilary and keep me informed. I care.

You should have read all the way through, the OP DID call her local Animal Control and the dog seems to be no longer in the abusive situation.

Oops. Thank you for the info. I just got SOO upset.

I think this thread should be closed now. Blondie called and the dog is gone (hopefully doing well tonight).

But if the thread stays and people read the first post or first page and don't read through, they won't know what is happening and may get all upset as has already happened. I doubt Blondie needs more of that.

Blondie, I am so glad you called. I have been thinking about that poor little doggy since I first read this thread. I hope today begins a happy new life for the little guy.

I would call Animal Control to follow up. Hopefully, that little guy was picked up...

Blondie, I just saw that you posted an update on this thread. It sounds like maybe something was done which is great!

As for the CB, what is it with everyone nowadays? And it's usually NOT the DB people doing all of the griping!
