Would you reconsider canceling if Disney discounted "Covid Era" cruises by 30%?

I had to cancel my January 2022 cruise due to the problems my friend faced flying in from Switzerland (the uncertainty and changing protocols). BUT if Disney discounted the cruise by 30% I would have considered going anyway, on my own. There are just too many things missing for me - the printed menus, the longer fireworks, the cooking demonstrations, abbreviated Cabanas buffet . . . You pay a premium for DCL that is mostly warranted or WAS warranted and without some of the "fun stuff" I think there should be a discount. Or rather, I would be more interested if there was.

We’re departing on Monday on our second Covid-era cruise because of the great discounts we’ve gotten as FL residents. We booked on opening day for a 5 night double dip for November 2021 and considered it a good deal at $5,600 for 4 people. As it got closer, we considered canceling. When their recent discounts came out though, it was too good to pass up. We canceled that original booking and for close to the same amount as the one original November 2021 cruise we booked two discounted sailings…a 4 night HOTHS in October for $2700 for 4 and a 5 night double dip next week for $3100. We can hardly believe we’re getting 9 nights this fall for just a smidge over what we were paying as a good deal for 5 nights before. I’ll take the covid changes for that kind of discount! But I get your perspective, if we hadn’t gotten a great FL rate on these I’m not sure we’d feel the same.

I’m guessing you would like to sail from FL but I just got an email this week from DCL saying they are offering 30% off cruises from Galveston if you sail VGT (I think it was VGT).

I'm paying full price to sail over Christmas and New Year - I'd love someone to offer me a discount.

Disney and Discount are two words that normally don't go together, and it seems since the parks and ships resumed operations, the motto has been "how much more can we charge"

Most January sailings are discounted. We have a B2B on the dream in January. We were PIF for both for around $5400. Then they started dropping the VGT rates. We cancelled both for a full refund and rebooked the VGT rate. We are now paying $3300 for both. Yes, we don’t get to pick our cabins and we may have to change cabins, but for a $2000 discount, we are happy.

Nope still would cancel, mask requirements will keep us far away from spending any money on a DCL, not for us and not when plenty of mask free vacations out there.
Unfortunately those mask free options are becoming less common. But more importantly, places are changing the protocols with no notice.

Not really, there are actually a lot of places within driving distance of me which has works too and letting us try new things. If anything I have seen more places start dropping masks again that did have them, especially for workers.

As I posted a few days ago, the 25% off was enough to get me to purchase, as opposed to cancel. Now that my son has had his second shot, I’m ready! (especially after watching my in-laws go on like three cruises in the last three months)

Well, there are other cruises, on Celebrity and RCCL that are maskless if you are vaccinated, (okay, at least they do as of this writing, subject to change) and they are great cruises. I went to a retirement party this week that required proof of vaccination or a covid test and masks, which caught me by surprise. Better than other holiday gatherings I guess, just got word that the big one I was looking forward to has been canceled because of Omicron.

EDITED: Just looking at the big holiday crafts fair website, and I admit this surprised me.

"COVID update: For your safety and the safety of our children, a mask and proof of vaccination OR Negative Covid test within 72 hours will be required (ages 12+) to gain admission."

Living in the Southeast works well for us :). There is always another year for a cruise, right now we will enjoy other things. We are at a Disney and only deal with it there (actually only place we go now that requires it at all) but between ap and dvc it doesn’t cost us as much now and we renewed back when they were fully dropped.

Didn't know they still did this, but this crafts fair normally runs Friday thru Sunday, but only Friday and Saturday this year. Tomorrow (Sunday) they will seal off the auditorium at the school where this is being held to fog it with disinfectant. Yikes.
