HI Dis friends,

Last year, I bought the game LIFE for Christmas and guess what....we never played it, the rules were so very frustrating and my DH gave up.

I don't want to make the same mistake. I see the game board CLUE around for many many years but I have no "clue" to the game, never played it.

Would you recommend it?

Thanks!

i loved the game Clue

The only negative was you needed at least 3 people to play and one had to know the "answers " so they could check the other players guesses...
unless there is a new electronic way to do this ....

edited to add: Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick.... :rotfl:

You don't need to know the answers........at least the way we play it. If someone says they are going to solve it, they just say their answer out loud. Then the rest of us check our cards. If they say Prof. Plum and I am holding the Prof. Plum card then we know they are wrong and they are out of the game.

I love Clue. It really depends on your kids. Mine are horrible at Clue and so is my DH. Apparently deductive reasoning is not their strong point. On the other hand, I have never won a game of Blokus and all three are great at that. They are more spatial people then I am.

Can you tell me about Blokus?? Never heard of it. What ages are your kids?

My 9 year old dd loves this game! There is a new electronic version - Clue FX. I think you have two players with this one.

We really like the game Clue, but then again, Life was pretty easy for us.

Our favorite game is Upwords.

I love Clue. It is one of the few board games where you don't have to worry about money. It does take some thinking to solve the mystery. Board games are always good to have around. My family's favorite is those long nights of a never-ending game of Monopoly. You know where your dad and brother team up against you and all you have to your name is Baltic Ave and $100 and you are rounding the corner to Boardwalk and its big red hotel.

Do you have the new game of Life, the one with the cards that contain different styles of houses and all that? I have the original version and newer one. I have to say, the original was much easier to play. The new one gets me confused with picking out houses and jobs.

My 9 and 7 year old DS's LOVE Clue. We got them the Disney Haunted Mansion clue game and they have so much fun with it. They will even play it alone with friends. They also love all the hidden Mickey's on the board itself. Its a pretty easy game.

We have Clue Jr and my kids love it. It is a much shorter game and you do not have to read. My kids also like Disney Haunted Mansion clue game now that they are a little older and can read better. They are both fun games.

i'm not a clue fan. but my kids were given the board game "don't make me laugh" over the summer and love it (dd 11, ds 8)-you are given a task to try and cause the other players to laugh in order to earn points (and it's fun for adults as well). we also have "kids battle the grownups"-it can be played by just the kids or kids and grownups. the questions vary based on what group you fall into (harder for adults-but harder in that the questions are on things the kids tend to know right off the bat: pop culture, cartoon trivia, basic school concepts that we have long forgotten).

In Blokus each player has a bunch of different shaped tiled pieces. Each player takes a turn placing one of their pieces on the board. There are rules as to what the pieces can and can't touch. The goal is to get rid of all your pieces. It involves strategy and logic and you must have good spatial perception........which I apparently lack! It is fun and my kids (10 and 8) like it.

I love Clue, even as an adult, it is my favorite game. I just bought the one to play on my husband's game boy from Target for $14.99, so I can play by myself.

If the Game of Life was tough, Clue might be a bit much - it is hard to say...

Another vote for Blokus. It is so much fun! My parents and in-laws have even played it with the kids and they love it too. You can use a lot of strategy or just wing it and have fun either way. Both of my DS 5 and 7 enjoy it. My good friend said her teenagers like playing it!

We also enjoy playing Clue. My DS7 really enjoys it. But I think it's too crazy to play with several kids his age. I prefer it when its just DS, DH and I because it's a little complicated.

My DS loves playing Monopoly Junior. We play that over and over!

I love CLUE. I have the original and the Simpsons Clue and I like them both.
