Would you rather stay at Quality Inn or Anaheim Plaza Inn

EnnEss, the "HoJo thing" on the DISboards is largely about the Entertainment Book rate. $59 for a standard room and $74 for a deluxe, recently renovated, park view room with a balcony. There is no other hotel within close walking distance that has such good rates for this level of hotel. And it is a hotel, with inside corridors, unlike the others at the crosswalks, which are all motels with outside corridors. It has a big pool at the back, then the elaborate new Castaway Cove water play area near the front by the jacuzzi. That's all there is to it. Well, that and the staff have been so incredibly friendly, helpful and nice to the DISboarders.

The ent rate has nothing to do with the disboards and the frequent praise heaped on it when paying the regularly discounted 15 percent rate. The castaway cove is literally weeks old so it hardly explains it. The amenities it offer do nothing to differentiate it from the other motels in the area, the walls are made of cardboard, like nearly every LA hotel it seems, I dont know if its because they dont need to insulate or what. Im not saying its a bad hotel, its fine. It gets too much praise on these boards for what it is, the ent rate is difficult to get particularly in peak times. Its a 3 star hotel. Thats what it is. If people knew nothing about hotels in the area and read most of the ranting about Hojos on these boards they'd be dissapointed. Some honesty and unbiased opinion is a nice balance. Its nothing special at a rate of 100 - 120, which is what most often is paid, its not a good deal. If you get the ent rate thats great, but what you're then getting is a good deal, not a great hotel. Theres a large difference and thats my point. If you get 59 a night in non peak season, its a deal, hardly even great. The hilton is routinely available sub 80 dollars then. That is a nice hotel. The difference is noticeable.

PP made a great point regarding interior / exterior halls thats valid throughout the south, its only if you're from the colder parts of the country you'd make this distinction and its not done in any hot climates such as LA, Orlando, Mexico etc.

Julie, I doubt you'll get the Ent rate for a Saturday. They just usually don't have weekends available. Only rarely will you see a Sat. night at the Ent rate, unfortunately.

Call HoJo directly (not the 1-800 line) and ask for Lorealle. Tell her you heard about her from the DISboards, she knows us well! She posts here sometimes. Tell her your problem, and she will find the best rate for you for that night. At the very least she'll give you the 15% off DISboard rate.

Good luck!

:yay: :yay: We got the 23rd with the ET rate finally.... :yay: :yay:

Julie
