If Disney announced a “new” offsite DVC resort in Hawaii or the Caribbean Islands, would you purchase points?

During a recent poll that asked, “What would be your first preference for an offsite DVC Resort?” DVC Cruise, Hawaii, Caribbean and Ski destinations received the most number of votes (See http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php? t=711791) but would folks actually buy points at these destinations?

Choose all that you would seriously consider buying.

FYI… There’s a separate poll regarding purchasing points for a DVC Cruise (see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=720627)

If a “new” offsite DVC were built in Hawaii or the Caribbean, would you seriously consider purchasing points? (Select all that apply)

- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in Oahu
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in Maui
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in the Big Island
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in Kauai
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in Bermuda
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in the Bahamas
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in Puerto Rico
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas, St John, St Croix)
- I would purchase points for a DVC Beachfront Resort in some of the other Caribbean Islands not mentioned above
- I wouldn’t purchase but I like the option of a new offsite DVC Resort in Hawaii or the Caribbean for future stays
- I wouldn’t purchase and I’m not interested in any future offsite DVC Resort
- I would prefer if Disney found ways to increase exchange availability with other top timeshare resorts in Hawaii & the Caribbean (for example thru direct trade agreements)

No option for my choice. No, we most likely wouldn't buy an add on for Hawaii or the Caribbean, but we could be interested in another US location - Colorado????

I would ONLY consider an off site purchase if it was on one of the Hawaiian outer islands i.e. Hawaii, Maui, or kauai. I am NOT interested in the Carribbean or Bahamas at all.

We bought DVC primarily for access to WDW. If they had a DVC Islands somewhere, we might take advantage of the program to stay there once or twice, but wouldn't have any interest in owning points there.

Bought into DVC for WDW. If we wanted an island timeshare (which we currently do not want) I'd have to compare another timeshare (used) to the costs of a DVC Hawaii / Caribbean add-on.

I would be DELIGHTED if they were to open a Caribbean DVC. WE go to the Caribbean a lot so to have our "home" there would be just great. Hawaii would be a VERY long way for us.

Of course! I would love to be able to trade to another Disney resort say in Maui... It was too late to get in on the poll.

We bought DVC for consistent vacations at a location that is easy to reach from anywhere in the continental US. Yes, the individual resorts are very nice but there are also a ton of other activities that I suspect will take years to try at least once and that's just at the World. Then there's the offsite stuff to try eventually like Kennedy Space Center, the roller coasters at Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove. As much as I like Hawaii, I can't foresee 'owning' there because it doesn't meet my criteria. Colorado would work because flying through Denver isn't too bad. JMHO

No, I bought DVC for WDW. So I voted that I would like the option of a new off site DVC in Hawaii, etc. Nice to know the option is there, and it would be great for some people, but I probably wouldn't go. ::MickeyMo

No,

I couldnt see myself spending DVC money on places other than WDW. There is just so much competition out there, and it would be nice to visit but there is no place else that I would want to make an annual destination besides maybe Vegas, and definitely would not take the kids, so there are better choices.

If they put one in San Antonio TX by SeaWorld and Schlitterbahn maybe but I cant see that happening.
