Would you pick Garden Grove or Il Mullino for dinner?

Garden Grove is casual; Il Mulino is upscale. Il Mulino is a place we go when we want to dress up, share a bottle of wine, have a nice, leisurely, romantic dinner. The food is outstanding. I have seen a few children dining here but I would not consider this to be a family dining environment.

I ate at Il Mulino on Saturday, October 16th, and I was surrounded by tables that had small children. I counted at least 5 tables with them. I think the atmosphere is upscale, but it didn't stop other people from bringing their kids. The people at the table next to me had toys to keep their toddler occupied, and she had been well behaved.

We will be dining at Il Mulino in January, but in the meanwhile I will say that with the exception of V & A we would bring our 15 month old grandson to any restaurant on the property including the signatures. He goes out to eat with my son and daughter-in-law often and is very well behaved. We would all be prepared to take him out for a walk if needed. We have been to all of the signature restaurants and have regularly seen young children. It think it's good for them to have that experience as well as the experience of trying different foods.
If you're interested in good quality food I suspect that Il Mulino will be better than Garden Grove.

We went to Garden Grove last Dec, 2009. The theme that night was Mediterranean Night. For us, I thought the food was the worst I've ever had in WDW in the last 8 years. My sister however thought it was great. There were a bunch of open tables. Pluto or Goofy -- I can't remember --- came around several times so we have a bunch of pictures. There is a section for kids food ie chx nuggets, mac n cheese and kids desserts. The food for adults had a pasta station which I thought was below than average and antipasta items, sausage with peppers etc. soup/salad. I thought the desserts were fancy looking but didn't taste as good as they looked. We usually do a few character meals each trip with the kids 6 & 8 yrs old but we will not being going back th GG again.

Yu may want to see if restaurant.com still has certificates to purchase for S/D restaurants. The current promo code is "MEAL" for 70% off. ($25 gift cert for $3.)
We used a cert at Il Mulino 2 - 3 months back.
It was good. But neither of us walked away overly impressed by the food. :confused3 Can't say we would care one way or another to return. Thought even with the cert we paid a lot for what we had.
Have not tried GG yet.
