Would You Pay $122 Per Point For Beach Club?

Don't forget that there are tons of people out there that don't even realize there are boards like this available to glean info from. The buyer may have felt the only way they would get in without buying the 150 pt. min. from DVC was going the Ebay route.

no i wouldnt but the seller did a great job with all the information. so someone who really didnt know much of the cost sounded good to them.
they wont have to worry about rofr

Great job on the wording of the ad. The full 25 points are available after 12-1-06... Wow!!! :earseek: I'd better hurry to get this deal!! :lmao:

I noticed they were describing a studio but the picture with it shows 2 regular beds, which can't be a studio at BCV. I am assuming it is the 2nd bedroom of a 2 bedroom unit.

I agree they did a great job with pictures, listing benefits, etc. Maybe we should buy 25 point add ons and list them on EBay.

It looks like a regular Beach Club room, not at the villas.

It's $122 per point plus closing costs plus 2006 dues!

Given all the effort he put into writing up this ad, the seller just about deserves the extra $$!

I hope the winner has more points and these are not all the points he/she owns. Let see he/she could get 2 nights a year during the week jan, sept, dec.1-14, oct, nov.1-21 & 25-30, dec.15-23. or 1 night during the week the rest of the year. no weekends unless bank points are available. I wonder if Disney will buy it back so the seller doesnt make a profit. Well all i have to say is, the buyer should have educated him/herself with the points chart and resales.
Then on the other hand maybe they just got all caught up in the excitement of the ebay bidding, like a bad hang over the next day. Its fun while enjoying it and then the next day reality sets in.... :lmao:

AMAZING!

I agree the auction was very well written and the pictures made me want to buy! (If I didn't know any better...)

That is exactly what I was thinking. I truly hope it was not some poor sap, who thinks 25 points will get him a DVC vacation every year.

The person placing the ad did do a good job of making NOTHING sound like a great deal.

I love this one: "For much of the year, you can book a studio/sunday-Thursday nights, at beach club. Your membership will thus assure that you can stay at a Beach Club villas studio for at least 5 nights every third year, Sunday-Thursday night, until 2042 "

EVERY THREE YEARS!!! WOOHOO  :cool1: and not even a full week every 3 years! EVEN BETTER. :cheer2:

Wow, I think the seller deserves the extra money for the work that went into that description! :rotfl2:

I really hope the buyer understood that 25 points isn't even gonna get them more than 2 nights in a studio.

Although he did say later " . . .you will be able to purchase directly from Disney as few as 25 more DVC points and get Disney financing."

Well that is inaccurate, because it's 50 points to get financing.

Hope when DVC sees the price they don't get the same idea and raise membership another $10-15. Of course if people are willing to pay that much DVC won't worry about the impact of charging closing costs.

If the buyer is already a DVC member (which I suspect)-then owning at BCV would maybe give them the right to book at BCV in the 11 month window. (Using the 25 pts plus points from another resort.)
???????

No, at the 11 months mark you can only book at the home resort with the home resort points, so if a member owns at two resorts with 25 points at BCV, she can only use up to 25 BCV points (plus any banked or borrowed BCV points) for a BCV reservation at 11 months out.
