I need a hotel for two nights in late August before I check into the GF. I arrive around supper time on Friday night and plan on moving to GF first thing on Sunday. I dont plan on going to any parks Saturday - just relaxing by the pool... and will have to fit in a long run that day as im in training for the Princess Half...

That being said would you move from ASSp to POR? With the QS closure at ASSp during my stay and POR's proximity to DTD/their pool/open QS/ability to run in the area is it worth the extra $100? I have stayed at POFQ before and loved the quiet and peacefulness of the resort (but HATED the pool) but dont have any experience with POR...

TIA!!

If you aren't doing any parks on Saturday, then go for it. Bigger room, nicer amenities, nicer pool, hot tub, more food options, the list goes on. I don't think it's really a choice unless money is an object.

Having stayed at both...I would definitely stay at POR over ASSp for a resort day. Definitely. For all the reasons you and the PP stated.

I would switch! I have stayed at both. POR has both the main pool and some quiet pools. If you want to relax, find a nice quiet pool!

I am a runner and I have run the loop between POR and POFQ. You will need to run it a few times if you need to get some miles in. Run first thing (read: very, very early) in the morning, especially in August!! :thumbsup2

For all the features that you mentioned, I'd say go for POR! Lots of options if you want them, and I'm sure it's much better for a run, not only in the resort itself, but also on the path between POR and POFQ

I would switch. In fact, DS, 18 is going with a a friend and we moved them once we found out about food court closure. Enjoy your trip!

A million times over Y-E-S! But I am curious why you hated the POFQ pool?

IMHO the pool slide at POFQ is pretty tame compared with the other mods. Ok for really little kids. My kids wanted to head right back over to the slide at POR when we went to the pool at POFQ.

If it's for a resort day, definitely POR.

Now I just feel silly for posting this! :rotfl2: I guess that's a clear cut YES..

Ive made up my mind and im switching to POR...thanks everyone for the reassurance :thumbsup2
