Would you like to see 3 point tiers at BWV?

I would not be in favor of changing the current point structure. As others have pointed out some views at other resorts are not that great, but they cost the same as preferred view's at Boardwalk. If some of the preferred views are questionable at BWV, so be it. I would also think this would cause more confusion then it would be worth. Just my opinion.:)

They do that and I wodul be majorly irriated if they didn't for the otehr resorts. As it is I think BWV owners have an advantage other owners do not. Like what about that dumpster view at VWL?!? I think a bad standard or prefferred view at BWV would still be better than looking at a dumpster. And soem wodul say your room hanging over the road at BCV isn't too great either. Yet, no tiers were ever made at these resorts...
In general, it's a good idea to make the BWV views higher and slightly lower the middle views. However, I don't think the legal setup would allow it or at least would make it very difficult to do. It would be a lateral move for BWV owners and it would not hurt other owners at all and would actually help them by allowing a slightly lower points option for most of the rooms available.

I agree also with the way it is set up. If anything should change I would love to see the points lowered for week ends. 30 points for a one bedroom during the week, 60 on the week end is a big difference. A studio is more then double, 14 to 32.It would be great to have that come down 5 or 10 points.Don't think it will ever happen but you never know.

It could happen but the weekday points would then come up some amount -- the total has to remain constant. The reasoning behind the high weekends was to keep nearby members from booking only/mostly weekend trips that would make booking longer trips harder for folks coming from out of the area.

As a BWV owner, I have a few thoughts on this.

First, as Dean has mentioned several times, the worst thing Disney did was to call them "Preferred" views. That suggests that they are somehow superior and then people just plain get upset if they think the view is too plain.

I would not particularly favor another point tier.

What I would prefer instead, at ALL the DVC resorts, is a better categorization of the room that you could book when making reservations. All would have the same point value, but BCV would have some "EPCOT View" rooms and be able to confirm that like the Boardwalk View rooms. Likewise, if there are less than desirable views, they could have a classification like "VWL Common View" or something that would designate the dumpster area.

Then, when people made reservations, they would know their view ranges. And maybe if I was assigned a view I didn't like, I'd switch resorts at the 7 month point to sample another resort.

Frankly, no matter what they do, people will complain. I think the whole "view" thing has become a nightmare for Disney...and not only in the DVC resorts. You can read thread after thread on the Resorts Board giving room locations and how to get them.

Sorry...got off topic!

No, I would not favor another tier of points at BWV or any other DVC resort.

As I said in another thread, I think that what would be MORE worthwhile would be to change the names on the view categories at BWV. Drop "standard/preferred" and call what is currently "standard" "Entrance View" and call what is currently "preferred" "Water/Garden view" and of course have "BW view." I think it might alleviate a lot of the whining by people who think that they are entitled to the best view in the place because they reserve a "preferred" view. I have gotten a few myself where I couldn't see what was preferred about it (I certainly didn't prefer it!) but if it had simply been called water/garden view I wouldn't have thought twice about it (actually I still didn't think twice about it!)

I'm fine with the current system now. The guaranteed BW view was a nice addition.

As long as I can book 11 months out, I am still way ahead in the game.
