Would you have done something different?

Our last trip to WDW was last May. We were at WDW for 10 days and had already planned not to go to the parks on the weekend.

Origionally the shuttle was suspose to lift off on Sunday and my DS7 was all excited to see it lift off. Well as you know it got delayed. My DS7 still wanted to see where the shuttle lifted off from. So we drove over to Kennedy and took the bus tour. My DW and I found the tour very interesting. My DS7 found some of the tour interesting but for the most part was not that interested. My DS5 was not interested in it at all and was a waste of time for him.

Looking back we should have gone and done something else in Florida. My DW had first suggested Silver Springs before we knew about the shuttle launch. It is the one regret I have about the last trip. I should have listened to my DW and did Silver Springs. (We have never been there).

Do you have a regret about doing or not doing something when visiting WDW?

Honestly, I always have the SAME regret. I always wished we took the time to ENJOY the little things at Disney. Take more leisure time in the parks, instead of taking them by "storm". Will I EVER learn, probably not! :rotfl:

1. LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR REGRETS. :goodvibes
2. PARENTAL GUILT IS DEADLY-STAY AWAY FROM IT! ;)

Well, even if you all didn't totally enjoy it at least you all were there at the time history was being made or thereabout. That is a good memory in itself, I think, as when your kids are grown and all they can recall that time looking back at it all.

Don't sweat it. :goodvibes

we've only been to wdw twice-we will be going again for 5 days in november. on our previous trips we have never realy explored the different resorts and what they offer-we plan to do this during the evenings on this trip. we've also never realy explore all of the different country's in epcot, wo we plan to do this as well.

It can be disappointing to miss the shuttle--especially when you paid so much to get in to KSC. We love KSC and wait for the annual county residents freebie day.

Is your disappointment--just b/c the shuttle didn't launch? Imagine if if you did go to SS instead. Murphy's Law would have had that shuttle in the air ;). So they didn't enjoy it. At some point--you would have wondered...it's done, you don't have to do it again.

I don't regret things I do or miss out on trips (unless the trip in general was bad). I remember what I liked best or what I missed...and I just make plans for next time if there is one. We went all the way to the UK 18 months ago. I had a book for things to do with kids in France...but never found one for UK. Imagine my "DOH" moment 6 months ago, when we researched the real 100 acre wood. We didn't do stonehenge either. Those would have been 2 lovely side trips. I don't regret missing them--but the next time we go to England...they will be must do's for us. I might have called myself "idiot" for not realizing about the whole "Pooh" thing. ;)

I was disapointed that the shuttle didn't go up when we were there. More so I just feel bad for my DS5 who spent most of the time playing with a couple of toys he brought along. My DS7 liked parts of the tour but he was board most of the time. I just feel bad that I wasted a day of vacation taking my sons somewhere where they didn't have fun.

I wouldn't spend time regretting it; you can't change it. They may have taken in more than you know and will appreciate it more as they get older. I would just use it as a learning experience and not repeat it.

well I always regret leaving WDW but unless I win many lotteries ...nothing can change there :rotfl2:

Last summer we drove to WDW from NJ......saw some things on the way..the only regret I have is that on the way home we stopped at the Datona Speedway.....we just drove up and looked...I thought it was too soon to stop and drag my DD2 out of the car seat..... I wish that we had gotten out and done the tour of the track.....
oh well....
