Would you go to Disney while pregnant if you had a choice?

Last time we went, I was 6 months pregnant with #3. I avoided the "do not ride" rides (better safe than sorry, especially since it is more than just possible miscarriage/premature delivery for the reasons to avoid), which isn't really all that much. I didn't miss them as much as I thought I would (and I am a HUGE thrill rider) and I did things I proably wouldn't have done otherwise. It was a very enjoyable trip.

I wouldn't put off a pregnancy for a trip because (1) you might not get pregnant when you plan. I practically sneezed and was pg with #1 & #3, but #2 took two years. (2) a trip is a few days in a lifetime & a child is a lifetime. Age gaps between kids is more than just missing a few rides. (3) Those rides will be there for the next trip. The ones you need to avoid are going no where unless something dramatic happens and I doubt Space Mountain is going to break in two.

We have a Dec trip planned, and it might need to be postponed until Jan/Feb :sad2: due to DH's work, but we starting to try for #4. I might still not be pregnant and if I am, at least the age gap will be more to my liking than another school year behind. I'd prefer to have the majority of my life where I want it than to ride Splash Mountain or Test Track on one particular day.

No. That would be too much walking for me & I had a bad experience with my last pregnancy after spending too much time walking about one day while on a vacation.

Our trip is planned for October 2007. Our DD will be turning 4 on that trip.

DH and I are thinking about the next baby. I don't want to be pregnant at Disney (I want to go on the "pregnant women should not ride" rides  ) but I'm also feeling the pressure of DD getting older. Not to mention that I'd prefer a spring baby because I live in Louisiana where it's wicked humid during the summer. Putting off baby #2 until we get back from Disney puts me delivering at the end of July/bigging of August - the least desirable time of year. If it weren't for our Disney trip we'd probably try next summer for a baby, giving us a March/April baby. Much nicer. :teeth:

So, give me some advice. Go to Disney pregnant or not?

I was prego my last two trips....It was manageable....! I had a morning sickness problem that caused me to loose my lunch in the lobby of the Boardwalk Inn! That was a nightmare! We are heading down in May and I have already told my hubby to stay away from me!!! I know it's my lot in life to visit Disney World pregnant!!! Just for once...I would like to ride the Tower of Terror!

Not me...I am "high risk" so it is NEVER an option.

We put off trying for pregnancy until after a Disney trip. I was a MISERABLE pregnant woman regardless of the trimester :teeth: Personally, I would not want to go pregnant because I would probably ruin everyone else's good time by being a grumpy whiner. I hated being pregnant and had a hard enough time just walking around the grocery store.

However, a coworker who was pregnant at the same time as I was (twice) actually felt better pregnant than not and probably could have done WDW in her third trimester with no problems whatsoever. She also was back to her pre-pregnancy weight a couple WEEKS after delivery. Soooooo hard to work with... :rotfl2:

We just came back three weeks ago, which made me well into four months pregnant. Personally for me, I would never do it again. It was too hot, I couldn't ride the cool rides, and I just didn't move at my usual "WDW" pace. Not to mention I swelled very easily and it just wasn't as fun as it has been not being pregnant.
The logic for taking the trip was to go before I got too pregnant. We figured once the baby is born we won't be heading down to WDW for another year or so.

Sounds exactly like my situation. I would like to time it where I'm into my second trimester so the nausea and fatigue are better. I will avoid jerky rides because I'd never forgive myself if anything happened. But it will be lots of fun anyway!

I definitely would :)
I wouldn't go in the third trimester, but first or second, yeah. Both of my pregnancies have been really easy and enjoyable and as long as things were going smoothly, I'd really enjoy Disney while pg!

Yes. I did. Would I have wanted to go pregnant if I didn't already have a 2 year old at the time? Probably not. Since there were rides my DD was too short to ride, those were the rides I just avoided. DH rode while DD and I found other forms of entertainment (or rode IASW for the 500th time). I was 7 mos. along and really, the only things I missed were the coasters and Mission:Space.
It worked out well for us since I just took Disney at the pace of my daughter (then almost 3).

umm...that's a tough one. Personally, I wouldn't, but I did see several pregnant women there our last trip who appeared to be having a blast. I remember one woman though (looked about 8 months along with 2 children in tow), and she looked MISERABLE....it was so hot and humid that day...I felt terrible for her.

Enjoy your trip either way. :)

We went in July with an eight months pregnant friend one year (about 4 years ago). She was absolutely amazing. She never ever complained, even when we could see she was exhausted.

If in good health, and if there are no pregnancy complications, then go. Why not? There surely are worse things - like NOT GOING to Disney!

:goodvibes

There are three reasons we're planning for late October (2007):

1. DD's birthday is October 29th, so we thought it would be fun to celebrate it in WDW.

2. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I'd love to see how Disney does it.

3. THE WEATHER. I seriously wouldn't consider going to Florida during the summer unless somebody else was paying for it! We went in April for our honeymoon and it wa starting to get hot then! I wouldn't go between May and September at all if I could help it. I already get enough heat and humidity living here in Louisiana! I'm hoping that at the end of October in Florida we'll still get warm days without the humidity. I think if somebody is going to be pregnant and go to Florida during the summer, they're braver than me. :rotfl:

I would go to Disney anyway I could!!! I have been there 7 months pregnant and it was a little rough as it was June but I had a great time. As long as the doctor said I could go I would be waiting at the airport! :cool1:

we went several times during my pregnancy the latest in Dec and I was due 1/31. For me, it was fine my DD was too young for the thrill rides so I sat with her while DH went on several of them. We just took it at my pace and were careful. But then I am also one to trudge up to Florida Field for all the Gator home games during both my pregnancies!

Good luck whatever you decide!
