My DH and I are debating whether or not we should get Florida resident annual passes. This is some info about us:
- We LOVE wdw. :thumbsup2 We also have a DD3.
-We live almost 3 hours away, so we won't be there all the time, maybe once or twice a month for short trips (like a weekend). :sad2:
- We'll be driving each time and our car breaks down a lot (sometimes 3-4 times per year) :furious:
-We hate the travel part. We like when we're there, but we don't like driving back and forth.

Despite this, we are really considering it. We also know that FL resident seasonal passes are available, but we don't want to pay for parking. We think it will make up the difference with the annual pass. Maybe we'll get 1 annual pass, and 2 seasonal passes, so we don't have to pay for parking.
We love love love WDW, so even with the stuff listed above, I think it may be worth it. What do you think? :)

That's what I would do for the first year and see how it goes!! Lucky you...(except for the car breaking down!)

1) Get the AP instead of the Seasonal AP.
2) The benefits add quickly
. . . in approx ten visits the parking fees, alone, make up the difference.
. . . you have no blaclout periods

That's exactly what our family did. I got an annual pass and then got seasonal passes for DH and DD5. I'm a AAA member, so I bought our passes through them and paid $783.08 including tax. It is worth spending the extra $100 for one Annual pass if you will visit 10 or more days during the year (assuming you pay $10 per day for parking, which is the current rate, I believe). Personally, I don't mind the blackout dates on the seasonal passes because it covers the busiest times of the year when I really don't particularly care to be there fighting crowds anyway, so I don't see the benefit of buying more than one annual pass. Except for the parking and blackout dates, you get all of the same benefits with a seasonal pass that you do with an annual pass (mickey monitor, room, shopping, & food discounts, new attraction previews, etc). It just depends on your personal preference, but keep in mind that if you want to upgrade later, you can. You will just pay the difference between the two passes. I say go for the one annual pass and two seasonal passes and then upgrade to all annual passes in the spring if you decide that you don't want the blackout dates.

Just my 2¢

Get all seasonal passes and just park at Downtown Disney and take buses to the parks.

We live about 2.5 hours away, but we never go back and forth same day. We get the seasonal passes and stay onsite. That way you get a parking pass anyway. Plus you get the other benefits of staying onsite.
Have fun!! :cool1:

Hi, We currently have seasonal passes and have had them for a couple of years now. We are considering buying 1 AP next year for the free parking that comes with it. However, I don't know if it would pay for itself. We are about 90 minutes from WDW, but we only do 2 or 3 day trips a year. We usually stay overnight and always stay on property, so parking is free with our room. I don't think we make 10 day trip a year. Also, the black out dates aren't a problem because we don't want to go when it is that busy anyway. Also, I'm not yet comfortable doing the water parks, so I think we'll stick with the seasonal passes again. In fact, I am looking at buying DH a 10 non-expiring ticket instead of a pass. He doesn't go often and this ticket may last him 18 months or even 2 years. My girls and I definitely use our passes though. Good luck with your decision.

Sure, I'd get a pass. Heck, we had APs when we lived in Pa and only came twice a year.

I live in Jacksonville, but it's only about 2 hours away (we're in extreme southern end, almost St. John's County) from WDW. We do lots of day trips, did one yesterday in fact. My husband's corporate office is in Orlando, he had a meeting there, so I went down with him, he dropped me off at Epcot then met up with me yesterday afternoon. We watched the 5 o'clock Candlelight Processional, grabbed a quick dinner in Germany, and were home by 9 p.m.
We've had AP's for 14 years now, tried the Seasonal last year, but ended upgrading back to an AP when we wanted to go in June. Not having to pay for parking is a big bonus.
It's a big chunk of change we spend each year to buy the passes, but we more than get our money's worth back. No way I could not get a pass each year, it's become one of the neccessities in life. :teeth:
