Would you friend this person on Facebook?

Interesting situation. I read our local newspaper on-line. Included in the newspaper are many different blogs on many different subjects. I read this one blog by a woman who is a newspaper reporter; and I comment on her blog quite a bit - nothing personal - just responding to her subject matter. I enjoy her subject matter and writing style.

I just got an email from Facebook showing that she is trying to friend me. It looks like her personal page and not her reporter one.

Would you consent to friend her?

I would, I don't see a problem with it. I've got a lot of DIS friends on mine that I only know through FB and not here.

Sure, why not? I'd okay it, then watch her posts for a while. If you find something objectionable, then you always have the options to unfriend later.

I would. If later I decided I wished I hadn't, then I'd just un-friend her.

I'm not at all interested in Facebook, but it seems that you enjoy the topics that this person writes about, so why not give it a try?

If you find later that her "personal" side isn't what you expected, there's some way you can block her or something - right?
