Would you fly Delta at $212 RT or hold out for SW?

Orbitz sent me an email about a Delta sale. I can fly $212 RT per person from Nashville, or for my family of four $848.05 plus taxes and fees. I am really trying to hold out for a good rate from SW. They are running $39 one way per person for Orlando right now, but travel must be completed by 09/29/05. We leave for Orlando on 09/30. I don't think I've ever waited this late to get our airline tickets and we've never had to pay more than $400-600 to fly to Orlando!

I'm getting more than a little anxious. I'm afraid, though, that if I spend $800+ on airfare now, SW will offer a better rate for our dates later. I've read on these boards that SW will usually offer a comparable sale sometime in August.

Would you book or wait?

How are SW rates? is it possible to book with them and then get a credit for future travel if they have a sale?

SW has $111 one way available on 9/30. Depending on your return date you might be able to book $99 or around $227 R/T. I'd book it, SW will give you credit if the fare goes down.

I'd take SW over Delta any day...I won't even go into my horrible Delta Customer Service experience, but believe me, it was enough to turn me off from them for good. As others have said, book SW now and get your credit later.

I would book the Southwest fare and hope it goes down. I HATE delta from nashville to orlando, it's just not great and I hate that you land in the dungeon of MCO and have to walk a mile just to get to the tram to take to the main terminal. I would be southwest will come down at least a little for your dates and I bet it will happen in the next two weeks or so after their current sale expires. Unless it was a HUGE difference in price I'd pay a little more for southwest.
