We're going in October. If i order the hoppers now it will be due in
august, and will be paid and done with.

WHAT SHOULD I DO? For some reason I keep myself from picking up the phone and ordering it. I guess i am worried that i hope i don't get scared of flying (terror; etc.) or something at the last minute, then out of $650! Already paid for plane tickest $470

also, we have an old hopper w/ 1 day left (each) - can we use that when we get there? then i will only need 4 day pass, bec. we're going for 9 days
MGM, MK, AK, EPCOT, MK, = 5 days at parks

PLUS BELOW
separate from hoppers: MNSSHP, TL

i think we'll be covered, right? :cutie:

It's a dream of mine to be able to have everything paid for in advance of my next WDW trip. HECK YEAH! Buy them in advance if you are able. Even if for some unforeseen reason you have to cancel - they never expire. :earsgirl:

I also like to have everything done in advance so I don't have to worry about anything so my advice would be to go ahead and get the tickets now. :)

My DD and I are going in Sept. and I already bought a 7 day Park Hopper Plus at a local Disney Store for these reasons:

1) It's paid for before we go (as are our flights).

2) I've committed the money so it will be harder to decide later that I shouldn't go after all and save the money (the tickets are non-refundable). Just one surprise was that they charged FL sales tax... and Oregon doesn't have sales tax!

3) One thing I did find reassuring is that this type of pass never expires so your remaining day on the old pass should still be good - they'll still accept the old "E-ticket" style tickets! Unlike the Ultimate Park Hopper pass, you can use just a few of the park days and "pluses" now and use the rest any time in the future (the UPH is only available to resort guests and expires when your stay ends).

Oh yeah, the pre-purchase price of the PHP was less than if I bought at the park. I paid $336.56 including tax and it would be $364.23. Not a big savings but every little bit helps.

They don't expire.......get them! One less thing you have to think about before the trip.

If going for 2 weeks, would you get an Annual Pass or the Premium Annual Pass?

I'm not sure, but I think the PAP offers the water parks and disney quest...is that correct?

etwinchester - I think a lot would depend on how much time you'd spend at the main 4 parks as well as the "plus" parks. You can get a Premium AP that includes the water parks (not sure about DQ) and Pleasure Island. If you wouldn't go to all the "plus" parks, you might be better off just getting a regular AP and an AP for a specific "plus park" - I think it would be a bit less. Of course, if you're going to spend time at other places outside the world, a 7 day Park Hopper Plus might be a better price... unless good AP rates are available during your stay.

You might want to check out mousesavers.com as they do a good job weighing the pros and cons of AP vs Park Hopper.

I bought my PHPs two days before we left. In my case it was a good idea, because DD-22 told us two days before we left that she would not be able to come because she could not get out of work. However, I had a gut feeling that that would happen, (she's sweet, but a bit of a flake) so I waited until almost the last minute & I still got the pre-purchase price at the local Disney Store. ;)

Thanks. I know I don't want an Annual Pass for the water parks. I want to go to Typhoon Lagoon and maybe one visit to Blizzard Beach.

The parks, I want to be able to come and go. Spend 1/2 at one, 1/2 at hotel or all day at one. We'd be going for 14 nights. I know with the AP it helps out for discounted meals and merchandise. That would really help out with 14 days of meals...

Pick up the phone - order - pay - be done with it... look at it this way ... if it is all paid for then YOU MUST GO - there is less and less as the payment progresses that will stop you....

I have been *forced* into canceling my vacations in the past due to hardships that pop up and then regretted having to give it all up... I hate to say this, but I am still going this time even if there is a death in the family- heck even if its my own - they can cremate me and take me with them!

Having it all paid for just makes my 'gotta go' convictions stronger.

Sure, buy them now. I do find it a relief to have as much taken care of as soon as possible. I have already purchased my tickets for May, and I already have my hotel reservation made. I say do whatever makes YOU feel best.

we found the come and go aspect great ,( one day we went to mk just to see the mickey stautes and philharmagic which we sure wouln'gt have done other wise!) , the discounts other than rooms really don't amount to a whole lot( like trail's end would be $1 off the lunch i think). we went to Vero Beach on business and saved a ton on the room there which paid for our extra on passes but other wise, with the room only open to public specials they had been running ,the difference at wdw itself was only $5 per night with the pass( at avalue resrt, could be alittle more at a deluxe), not really worth it imo since the pass is so much more UNLESS you plan on going to the parks more than 8 days. if not wait till closer to time and see what specials they are running ( or just buy 1)
