No! Too high for me, but then again, does one actually know how high the bridges over the bays and rivers are? We can't see that far down!

It's not in the least excessive as this bridge cuts down driving time by an hour and rids the valley and the villages in it of a lot of transit traffic. The off-side is, that some small businesses like bed&breakfasts, gas-stations, convenience stores, etc are hit hard by the traffic now passing by 800 feet above their heads.
And you mustn't forget that here in Europe we don't have as much space as you, so we have to try and make the best of it.

I'd drive over it no problem. Bridges don't scare me at all. However you'd have to force me at gunpoint to go on any roller coaster scarier than Thunder Mountain Railway.

No thanks. I won't even drive over a couple of bridges around here that are not nearly as high as that.
