I have the opportunity to do the pirates and princess party on the last day of the season for it which is September 3rd, Labor Day. Am I crazy for considering doing it? We will not be at the park that day, just for the party and we are planning our "big" day at MK on Wednesday. We will be doing AK on Sunday and just chilling most of Monday until the party. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old who can hang pretty late without much trouble other than maybe dosing off and that doesn't disrupt us a bit. It just sounds like a lot of fun.

Just wanted some opinions about expected crowds and what about it getting rained out? Does the park ever really "close" for weather and if so, do you know what they do about these types of things where you already have your ticket?

Thanks for any input!

I'm going to the party on that day! Who knows if they will be doing the P&P Party again. I think it'll be a lot of fun, and I have no data to back this up but I don't think it'll be too crowded. It's Labor Day, but it's the night before everyone needs to get back to work. They do not close or refund due to rain, just put on a poncho and enjoy the lower crowds when everyone flees from a little water. Have fun!

Yeah, it sounds too good to pass up. I heard it bombed so bad early on that they almost didn't run it again. So better to get it while it's here. Are you guys dressing up? Of course my little girl wants to be a...PIRATE!! What? I just can't believe she doesn't want to do the frills and such, but then again, it does look like the pirates are having a pretty good time running around and sword fighting and such. She was actually thinking of being a pirate for halloween, so I thought I could dresss her baby sister as a parrot. I thought that would cute since they are so far apart in age, but the parrot suit would be WAY too hot for this trip.

Have fun!!!

My husband, son (3) and I are going to be there -- Never been to disney before, and this will be our second night on site. I am pretty excited, not really sure what to expect at all ----
so, for anyone that was gone already this year, can you share details please (pictures too)

We were at the first one in January and we will be going to the last one in September = Yeah! The fireworks are worth the money alone.

We will be there!! We cannot wait! Went to MVMCP in December and had a blast.

My DD5 will be dressing as a princess!!

DH, DFIL - wearing matching pirate shirts
Me, DMIL - wearing matching MINNIE shirts

firsttimermd: My DD will be a pirate too! She's been there, done that on the princess thing. Plus she was a pirate for Halloween, she called herself Jackie Sparrow and looked awesome. We're really looking forward to it! My little one will be a princess, she's only coming for a couple of hours and then my parents will pick her up because I took her to one in Feb. and she conked out after about an hour, and I was stuck the rest of the night not being able to ride anything. Don't want that to happen with my older DD along!

I'm really looking forward to it, it was a ton of fun in Feb. despite being pretty cold - it really wasn't very busy at all because so many things are open, the crowds are not all in once place. We even got to meet Jack Sparrow with very little wait, because we went right as the fireworks were starting and then still got to watch the last 1/2 of the firework show. Tons of fun... can't wait!! I'm so glad they brought it back so my DD8 can experience it too.

I would go. We're going next Saturday, and we went in March. It was a BLAST. We had an amazing time. We waited 45 minutes to see Jack Sparrow, mmmm, he was dreamy. My daughter cried and cried she was so scared of him, he then leaned over and whispered to me "Why, deary, did you bring that BRAT in here!" :lmao: My friend who went with me still makes fun of me for that ... it was just too funny.

I'm hoping they bring it back, it was really that fun. Jack Sparrow and Cinderella were are longest wait, though we didn't see Ariel or the other princesses ... I heard they are bringing Tink out for Meet and Greets for the first time during this round of P&P party. That alone is enough of a reason to go back, lol.

Also, the parade is AWESOME. We rarely watch the parades anymore, it's hard when you've seen them before, but this one took my breath away.

I wish I knew how busy it would be during Labor Day. My brother is coming home on leave from the Navy and my mom wants to go to Universal, he's going back to Iraq a couple of weeks from now ... and she wants to do something with the whole family. But, and maybe I'm lame, I just don't know how busy it's going to be. I hope you guys have a good time.

I have been looking for this answer. :surfweb:

I need to know if this party is worth the extra $$ for our family? Has anyone NOT loved it??

I am worried that the crowds may be large due to only Sept date offered. And that it is Labor day. Anyone been to a Disney party and had it too crowded?

We are also interested in seeing a villian or too. Do any of the "bad" characters come out? Or is that usually Halloween partys?

thanks for any help :goodvibes

I am glad I found this thread also!

We are arriving WDW on Labor Day at 3pm. We thought about buying our tickets early but were afraid, if our flight is delayed, of missing it. We are taking our dd (2 1/2) for her first WDW trip and we want to make sure she is "up to it" after flying all day.

I called WDW and they said to buy tickets ASAP in case they sell out...would she be telling me that to make me spend the money?? I also am hoping that it would not be as busy because of the holiday and everyone being back to work on Tuesday.

Would my 2 1/2 year old enjoy this party?

Thanks in advance,
Stephanie

My DD absolutely loved it at 2.5 in February. However, we had a long day and she fell asleep quite early on. But she really liked the "treasure" stations where she got candy and bead necklaces, and she had a ball meeting Jack Sparrow. She was afraid he might steal her blankie and binky, because he's a pirate and pirates steal stuff!

I don't think it will sell out, it sounds to me like that CM was just pushing you to make a sale. I think you should just play it by ear, don't hype it up to your DD in case you guys are too tired after traveling all day. That way if you don't go, she won't know what she's missing, and if you do go, she will be happily surprised and have a great time. Also just so you know, I'd say maybe 1/2 of the kids or less were dressed up. Many just wore a pirate or princess tshirt, or a little tiara or something, so it's only as big of a deal as you make it.

I'm still hoping it's not too busy and looking forward to having lots of fun with my little princess and piratess!
