Would you do MK or Epcot on Easter Sunday?

Easter is our first park day, and while I would like the kids first ever trip to WDW to start at the Magic Kingdom, I'm nervous that it may be extra packed day. Crowd calendars are mixed.

Either way we're planning to RD and have an ADR lunch followed by a break back at the resort. We also have hoppers. Kids are 3 and 6.

Thank you so much for any thoughts.

We went last year to MK on Easter Sunday and also plan the same for this year. Yes, it was crowded. However, the entire week was! BUT, last year was a EMH so we got there at 7am and were able to ride a ton of rides and take a break at noon! Right now the calendar says the park is opening at 9am! I'm really hoping it changes, because we are early people and take advantage of that. It shows HS for having an EMH on Easter, so that might be the busier park. I hope this helps a little!

Thanks for sharing. We are expecting the week to be crowded also, I'm not sure if I should be as worried about the particular day. Those Christmas Day crowd photos scared me though I know Easter isn't as bad. I'm hoping they change park hours too!

It's so hard to know! You pretty much have to pick your park if you are doing ADR, then at the very least 60 days before so you can do fast passes! I do my FP's in 19 days, so I'm hoping that if there is a change in park opening that they make it by then. Although I constantly tweaked ADRs and FPs right up until our trip last year.

Touring Plans predicts that both MK and EP will have a 7 (out of 10) crowd level on Easter. HS and AK are predicted to be at 8.

Thanks I did check TP. Kenny the Pirate says "Insane" for MK and that it is the worst park though and that Epcot is better. AK the best. I think we'll start our morning in MK as planned, hoping for an early opening, and if it is too packed we can always hop somewhere else.

If you have kids, it might be worth it to check out Epcot. They have an Easter Egg hunt in the maze at the UK. It's totally free, you just have to grab a return ticket from someone at the podium nearby. They only let in so many kids for each time slot, so it doesn't get too crowded for the kids involved. They also have a hunt for toddlers. Our kids really enjoyed it!

Oh that sounds neat! Thank you for sharing!

When my kids were young, we went to Epcot on Easter. They had egg hunts, games, and a visit with three Easter Bunny. It's been years, but the last time we did it, you could sign up that day for a time slot for a hunt. It didn't run all day and was at set times.

All parks will be insane on Easter Sunday as we always go this week due to me being a teacher. The only way to avoid insanity is to use EMH to your advantage and then leave the parks until evening.

Well, new plan altogether. Now we are planning to RD MK (hoping for an earlier than 9am open), with FPs right away, then head to a Bon Voyage breakfast at noon. Easter brunch with some royal couples. After that, we plan to stroll to the World Showcase from Boardwalk to check out the egg hunt situation. We'll stay there until the kids are "done" then head back to AoA from Epcot.

So, to answer my own question, both! :) Thanks all for your input.

Last Easter we went to DHS for Easter. Had a great time. It was crowded but not crazy.
