Would you do it: 5 PM CP then walking to HS for Dessert Party

We have the dining package for a 5PM candelight processional, and I just snagged the Merry and Bright Dessert Party for that evening as well. Would you do it? Watch CP, then walk to HS for the party? I wish I could find a different evening for either one, but it's getting late, and I'm not counting on anything opening up. I figure we should be well rested after sitting for the CP, so rally the troops and walk to HS where we can sit and relax again.

As long as you can do it time-wise, sure why not? You'll burn off your meal and make more room for dessert while walking to HS :)

Sounds good to me. It's a very pleasant walk - and only takes about 15 minutes. You could take the boat...but I feel like it goes incredibly, maddeningly slow.

Not sure on the timing as I don't know what time the dessert party starts, but it isn't a bad walk. When we stayed at the Boardwalk, we walked between the two parks a few times.

You can easily walk it unless your party moves slowly or has someone mobility impaired. DHS crowds are getting out of hand in the closing weeks of the Osborne Lights so you may have to wait a bit to enter the park. If WDW gets metal detectors for the park entrances as rumored, it'll take yet more time to get in. The dessert party guests may have already entered their area by the time you arrive, so if you are good with maybe not getting a chair, then go for it.

Thanks for the great advice. I'm assuming we won't be able to catch a boat because the lines will be so long, and walking will be quicker. I don't think we'll make it when the dessert party opens, but I'm okay getting there a little later.

Give yourself a full 45 minutes to walk to Hollywood Studios from the theater in the World Showcase. It will take you a full ten minutes, maybe more, just to get to the International Gateway from the Candlelight Procesional. And then from there it will take at about 25 minutes to walk to DHS. Make sure you walk on the Boardwalk side, not the BC/YC side. The BWI side is shorter.

Another vote for walking! And when taking the Boardwalk side you can shave some additional time off [shortcut alert] if you take a left just past the Surrey bike stand, then a right just past Wyland galleries which will bring you out to the BW "clown pool". The path to HS is just past the pool. Might save you 5 minutes.

I've noticed the shortcut on the map, but have never seen instructions. THANK YOU!
