Would you cruise with DCL if they asked to have proof of CV vaccine?

Will you cruise if a vaccine is mandatory ?

A few days ago I read a thread on vaccines on twtr where several ppl said they won't get it no matter what.. some mentioned they wouldn't fly, go to events, cruise , etc if forced to have a vaccine to do these things.

I'd have no problem showing proof of vaccination in order to cruise or travel but only after a period of time of seeing what kind of effects/reactions the vaccine is showing.

So, WHEN a vaccine is made available...

Would you get vaccinated and show proof if that was a requirement to sail with DCL?

Curious to see what people think.

The question really would be "Who would require it?" DCL? A specific country being visited?

There are people denied boarding on cruises that require such immunizations as Yellow Fever. That immunization is required by many countries. I'm not sure how a cruise line can impose such a requirement, but they can certainly enforce one imposed by a country they would be visiting.

If DCL asked.
Same as many businesses that have "no mask to entry" policies currently.
Now, would it be legal ? IDK.
Some might consider it an infringement on freedom rights and what not so I'm guessing it would cause a lot of debate and get a lot of ppl upset.

I'd be more likely to sail when them if they required it.
I've been to countries that I've had to have certain jabs.
I've had jobs that I've had to have certain jabs.

I've also had an illness that i could/should have had an immunisation for, and the hospital stay and 6 months of recovery/treatment after wasn't fun.

well considering that many countries currently require immunization for specific diseases as part of a tourist visa application, its not something that does not have precedent or something that would surprise me. I guess peoples reaction to this questions shows their level of knowledge and experience of international travel.

As I said - would DCL require it, or a country that DCL visits?

I don't see DCL being able to require such a thing (it's not really like "wear a mask"), but DCL could enforce such a requirement, if it was a country the cruise was going to stop at.

I agree, DCL could put into terms and conditions for boarding so anti vaxers will be denied boarding at departure port. Now THAT will be interesting, tee hee

Side effects being reported in the vaccine studies have been worse than what most experience from the actual virus. Will be interesting to see continuing info from studies, as well as how it effects general population once one is approved.

While I appreciate the sentiment and value your opinion please remember to keep it within the context of this thread which is would you sail if it were required. If you want to discuss the vaccine itself there are threads on the community board.

For myself, absolutely. I'm assuming though that the vaccine is proven safe and effective before they enforce this though, which remains to be seen.

I have not read/heard this. Can you provide references?
I'd like to see the links and sources as well.
This one was reported on CNN:
https://www.statnews.com/2020/05/26/moderna-vaccine-candidate-trial-participant-severe-reaction/
But there are over 200 vaccines in trial right now.

That's true. We have a number of folks in our community in phase 3 trials. So far (in interviews) they seem fine. Very much appreciate them participating in critical research.
When available, I'll get the vaccine.

Same to all of these - lets not derail this thread, please.
